“Nara 1 day tour”

It was a hot and humid day in Nara. We had selected Mr Yang as our guide because he was the only guide that was willing to bring us to Nara and sent us back to the hotel. We covered most of the temples that I had listed for him. The temples were beautiful & peaceful and the workmanship were unbelievable. On top of that, Mr Yang brought us to the old town of Nara. The houses were beautiful and nostalgic. In one of the house, we were introduced to the toys that children played in the past in Nara. We ended the day tired (too much walking) but happily satisfied.

“Osaka 1 day tour”

We had booked the Osaka 1 day tour for 1 Sep but were worried after learning that the typhoon Shanshan was headed towards Osaka on 30 Aug. Fortunately for us, the typhoon had left Osaka when we commenced our tour. Our tour guide was Mr Yang, a very accommodative guide. He was at his very best, bringing us to all the places in Osaka that I have listed down. Honestly, we could not have covered all those places without his guidance, especially with the confusing train network. In fact, he brought us back to Dotonbori for the 2nd time (on the next day) so that we could cover more shops (this was not in the itinerary). Anyway, I have to apologize to him for bringing him to watch the "whale" in the Aquarium Kaiyukan. It wasn't the whale that I had expected but just a "whale shark". In summary, we were drained, but it was a day well spent. Thanks.

“Honest and dedicated tour guide ”

Mr Yang is a dedicated, accommodative and honest Chinese tour guide who was born in Osaka. He speaks Japanese, Mandarin and some English. He should be very suited for families with elderlies. He spoke with a soft tone and was extremely patient and nice to my family with young kids, where the kids kept complaining about being tired. He knows Osaka very well and brought us through the Osaka subway network using mainly elevators at the exits (so that my kids would not complain about climbing staircases). He also kept a lookout for the safety of my kids on the roads. He is charging lesser than other guides for his service, and I was worried initially that he might bring us to tourist shops which pay commissions, but he did not and planned the day tour according to what I wanted. Most other guides in gowithguide expect you to pay for their transport (which is fair), and I was surprised that Mr Yang offered to pay for his own subway day pass initially. He also chose not to have lunch with my family and did not ask for his lunch supplement. Most guides on gowithguide either eat with you or expect you to pay for his/her lunch. I forgot to pay Mr Yang for his lunch at the end of the tour, which I felt bad. His only weakness is that he did not give as many details of a tourist spot as I would expect of a tour guide, maybe because he is a part-timer. He has a full-time job as a pharmacist. He is perfect for tourists and families who need a trusted and familiar local guide to guide them around Osaka using the public network without getting lost and wasting time.
