Explore a traditional wooden Japanese house

This 100-year-old traditional house is still in great condition and stands quietly near the city center. The entrance and living room are filled with antique furniture and decor, where you can see historical items used in old Japan, such as a vacuum tube radio and a treadle sewing machine.

12:00 PM

Enjoy a healthy Japanese meal featuring fermented brown rice

Natto and miso soup are traditional fermented foods in Japanese cuisine and are known for their health benefits. The brown rice served here is also fermented, and the lunch consists of a wholesome, home‑style Japanese meal centered on vegetables.

01:00 PM

Discover the history of Karasuhara Dam and its reservoir, a designated heritage of industrial modernization

Learn about the significance of the dam built around 120 years ago and the early waterworks system of the time. As we stroll around the lush, green reservoir, we will also explore the history of Kobe's port opening.

02:00 PM

Visit cultural highlights, including the Hyogo Great Buddha and a tunnel of red torii gates

To enjoy a relaxing afternoon in Kobe, if time permits, let's explore a charming side of the city that feels reminiscent of Kyoto and Nara.

You can take memorable photos with the Great Buddha in the background or standing inside the tunnel of torii gates.

The Hyogo Great Buddha was original built in 1891, and the current statue, rebuilt in 1991, stands at an impressive height of 18 meters.

Nearby is Wada Shrine, whose history traces back to 1658 when a flood on the Muko River washed a sacred portable shrine ashore, leading locals to enshrine it here.
