Sannomiya

We start in Sannomiya, the bustling heart of Kobe. Here, you’ll find a mix of department stores, trendy fashion boutiques, and specialty shops tucked away in side streets. You can browse for local clothing brands, accessories, and quirky items not found in touristy areas. Sannomiya also has a number of small second-hand and vintage stores, perfect for bargain hunters looking for hidden gems.

Motomachi Shopping Arcade

Next, we walk through Motomachi, Kobe’s long covered shopping arcade. Motomachi is known for its mix of high-end designer shops, elegant boutiques, and refined fashion stores, making it ideal for those looking for luxury items or stylish gifts. Alongside the designer brands, there are also smaller specialty stores, artisan shops, and unique second-hand stores offering carefully curated items at more affordable prices. This combination of upscale and eclectic shops gives Motomachi its distinctive charm

Harborland Shops

The tour ends at Harborland, a modern waterfront shopping district with a wide variety of lifestyle shops and fashion outlets. Here, you’ll find mid-range brands, local boutiques, and home decor stores, all set against the scenic backdrop of the harbor. This area is perfect for leisurely browsing, taking photos by the water, and finishing the tour in a relaxed, picturesque environment.

About Tour Guide Kyoko K.

Hi, I’m Kyoko. I was born and raised in Kobe. After completing my education, I spent 25 years in London, where I taught piano and enjoyed a wonderful life in England. I returned to Kobe a couple of years ago to care for my elderly father and began a new chapter in my career as a tour guide.

Kobe has recovered beautifully since the major earthquake 30 years ago. It is much quieter than Kyoto and Osaka, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy your time in Japan. I would love to show you the beautiful scenery of Kobe, from its mountains to its seaside. My typical tour starts at the herb gardens on the mountaintop, continues through the city center and Chinatown, and finishes at Harborland, a famous spot for photos and stunning views.

It would be my pleasure to help you create wonderful memories in Kobe.

I look forward to welcoming you on my tour.

Amazing Half Day Tour of Kobe with Kyoto

We had an amazing time Kyoto who spoke English with our group of 4. It was our first time in Kobe and we took a train from Osaka to meet Kyoto at the Sannomiya Tourist center. We went see Nunobiki Herb Gardens and Ropeway where we saw some amazing view of Kobe and the gardens very very beautiful with plenty of photo opportunities. We then walked through the town and had a brief lunch and proceeded to walk through Kobe Chinatown and Motomachi. Kyoto was very helpful in answering all of our questions when asked regarding Kobe and other areas. We finished the tour by walking to Harborland. Kyoto was nice enough to help us get to back to train station. We all had a fun and enjoyable day in Kobe. Thank you for making it memorable.
