Originally from Canada, I've been living in Japan for 35 years, most of that in Miyazaki. I speak the language and I know the area better than most locals. In Miyazaki, there is a lack of public transport so I'd be happy to drive you to places like Aoshima (a beautiful beach and surfing hub), Udo Jingu (a unique seaside shrine), the samurai and merchant residences of Obi, and introduce you to the best spots for local food, shopping, or nightlife, as well as let you in on a few hidden secrets of Miyazaki if you have the time.

I’m a local licensed guide based in Kochi Prefecture. I grew up by the Pacific Ocean in Kochi and spent four years each in Tokyo and the United States—giving me both deep local knowledge and a global perspective. Although I’m new to GoWithGuide, I’ve been welcoming international guests for years through my private rental villa in Aki City and as a local guide in Kochi. Working in the travel industry, I know not only the famous landmarks but also the hidden gems of the region. All the photos you see here were taken by me—I enjoy photography, and if you’d like, I’d be happy to capture some memorable shots for you during the tour.

Hello! I’m Naoto, and I’m thrilled you’re considering the Hokuriku region for your journey. After living across the globe and spending decades in the fast-paced energy of Tokyo, I realized something important: the most authentic, soulful experiences in Japan are found right here in my hometowns of Toyama and Kanazawa. This region is a "hidden gem" where ancient traditions and pristine nature remain untouched by the crowds. My goal is to take you beyond the guidebooks. Whether we are: Exploring the samurai history and gold-leaf crafts of Kanazawa. Discovering a secluded restaurant tucked away in the mountains. Hiking or fishing along Toyama’s dramatic coastline and peaks. Diving into manga, anime, or local festivals known only to residents. Because I spent years overseas, I understand the curiosity of international travelers. I don’t just show you the sights; I help you translate the culture. Every tour is 100% customized to your pace and passions. Let’s step off the beaten path together. Please reach out, and let’s start planning your one-of-a-kind Japanese adventure!

Welcome to Osaka! My name is Rina, and I’m happy to guide you through my hometown. My tours are designed for travelers who want to experience Japan at a slower pace, savoring local neighborhoods, cafés, and everyday culture. Since July 2025, I’ve guided guests from many countries. I enjoy hearing about their lives and cultures, and I’m always glad to see their reactions to Japan. Everyday details here—food, traditions, or even train announcements—often feel new and exciting to visitors, and sharing those discoveries together is very rewarding. Osaka is often called the “city of kuidaore,” where food is central to life. Local specialties include takoyaki, kushikatsu, and okonomiyaki, but you’ll also find Osaka’s famous spice curry, countless bakeries, and cozy udon shops. Landmarks such as Osaka Castle, the Glico neon sign, and Tsutenkaku Tower are iconic, yet the city—sometimes referred to as the “city of rivers”—also invites you to stroll along the waterways and discover retro architecture. Beyond the major sights, let’s dive deeper into Osaka’s everyday culture and hidden corners. Osaka is also the ideal base for exploring Kansai. In one day, you can visit Kyoto’s temples, Nara’s deer, Kobe’s harbor, or Shiga’s lakeside scenery. With more time, you can even reach Hiroshima’s Itsukushima Shrine or enjoy the food culture of Fukuoka. Join me for a relaxed journey through Osaka. Together, we’ll enjoy its flavors, sights, and stories at a comfortable pace. I look forward to welcoming you to Osaka!

Hi! I am Kazue. I am from Fukuoka and live in the central city. I spent almost 20 years traveling around the world as a cabin attendant. Meeting different people, different cultures and eating local food were best things in my career. This experience definitely widened my perspective and will help me in some way when I work as a guide. Since I spent half my life outside of Japan, I noticed our culture and traditions are very unique and became more interested in historical sites in Japan. For my personal life, I am a mom of twins. It is still a hard work but I am enjoying a lot with them. We take them around Kyushu whenever possible for their fun and experience. We all love traveling after all. I am looking forward to showing you around our hometown soon!

Hello! I'm Steve and I’m originally from Sydney, Australia, but I’ve lived in Kumamoto City for the past 28 years. I hold a Gold license. I’d love to take you on a tour of some of the region’s most historic and stunning sites. I took my profile picture on the balcony of my home, which sits high on a hill, offering great views of the city both day and night, with majestic mountain ranges in the distance. I was a school teacher here for 25 years, starting in Japanese public schools before transitioning to an American institution. I understand that when traveling abroad, many people prefer a local tour guide. While I wasn’t born in Japan, after nearly three decades here, I consider myself as local as it gets! Not only can I share insights about the local culture, but I can also offer a unique perspective as a foreigner who has grown to love this country as my own. With our comfortable 4x4 full leather interior SUV, we’ll explore hidden gems that typical tour buses can’t reach, making your experience even more special. On our way to the sites, I’ll describe anything that catches your eye so you don’t miss a thing. I know that returning back from a great trip can feel like the end of something special, so if there’s anything I can do to make the ride more enjoyable, just let me know. On the way back, feel free to play any music you like on the BOSE sound system in the car.

After having lived in Tokyo for some decades, now I live in my hometown, Fukui where you can have a great experience of Zen buddhism in the head temple of the Zen sect, Eiheiji which was founded in 1244. Fukui Dinosaur Museum is very popular regardless of age. It is one of the world's three largest dinosaurs. Echizen is also well known for Japan's handmade crafts including kitchen knives, washi paper, lacquer wares, Tansu chests and pottery. Hello, everyone!! My name is Yukihiro(行博), call me "HERO". I'm eager to introduce this unique country, Japan to foreign guests. I am not a professional interpreter. I have retired from Japan Ground Self-Defense Force(JGSDF=Japanese Army) on March 2018. I have spent most of my career as a Army NCO(Non-commissioned officer) . My job experiences are only in the military, but there are variety of specialties, so I didn't feel boredom. I lived in many places all over Japan, such as Hokkaido 10years, Chiba 15years, Okinawa 8years and more places. I am working for the half of month as a tour-conductor in Okinawa Japan. Rest of month, I live in Nagasaki Prefecture, and work as a Triple Lights interpreter tour guide. I am registered as a Okinawa prefectural interpreter tour guide (English & Chinese), but don't have a whole Japan area certification. So I am brushing my skill up to get it. I speak English, Chinese (simplify & traditional) , no problem to guide you, not like a native though.

My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences. I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular. I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

Hi! I'm Sho! I live in the center of Nagasaki city and work as a YouTuber, podcaster, and tour guide specializing in sharing the charms of Nagasaki. Actually, I was born and raised in Yokohama, near Tokyo, and worked for about 5 years in Tokyo. However, I fell in love with the culture and history of Nagasaki and moved here in 2020. Nagasaki has a rich history of international exchange and friendship, established about 450 years ago as an international trading port in Japan. Since then, many people from all over the world with diverse cultures and values have visited this city. I love these stories and histories of Nagasaki. Nagasaki is often associated with the sad history of the atomic bomb, which is, of course, an important part of this city's history, but Nagasaki has much more than that. I'm looking forward to introducing you to the many charms of Nagasaki!
