Japan Tour Reviews

It was a great decision to book with Atsuko

Atsuko was lovely, knowledgeable and really great with my family who have different health/ physical needs. Our first time to Japan and helped us navigate the train line to be more confident to explore further on our trip.

An engaging personalized tour with a "friend"

Touring with Mido is like having a friend show you around their city. The tour was a great blend of hidden gems and tourist areas. Mido is patient and kind. We covered a lot of ground while waking at a relaxed pace. We learned so much about Japanese culture. He catered the tour to our liking and gave us awesome food/ shopping recommendations. We also felt very safe. We highly recommend booking Mido for your next tour.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour and felt comfortable throughout our time together. It was my pleasure to show you both the hidden gems and the popular spots, and I’m glad the pace and recommendations suited your interests. Learning that you felt safe and well-taken-care-of means a lot to me. Thank you for choosing my tour and for highly recommending it — I really appreciate your kindness. Wishing you many more amazing journeys, and I’d be delighted to guide you again anytime!

A Wonderful Autumn Day in Kyoto

My wife and our friend spent a wonderful day with Shuji walking throughout eastern Kyoto. He patiently worked with me ahead of time to tweak his standard Eastern Kyoto walking tour itinerary, responding promptly to all messages and making helpful suggestions. On the day of the tour, he arrived promptly at our hotel and ably led us on our adventure. Highlights (for me) included the off-the-beaten-path Komyo-in Temple, with its lovely dry landscape garden and its stunning art exhibit upstairs, as well as a visit to the Sanjūsangen-dō Temple with its 1001 Kannon sculptures (plus another one, that Shuji will show you) and 28 incredible guardian deity sculptures. Throughout the day, Shuji provided background information, patiently answered questions, took pictures, and was always ready to make adjustments as needed. All in all, a delightful experience!

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, it was a really wonderful day. I hadn't expected to see fall foliage, thinking it would be a little early. But we could enjoy them very much already. We could choose a secret route to avoid the crowd, for the sake of your agreement. The tour was comfortable, and the weather was nice. We don't often have such a nice day. Thank you so much!
