As part of a collaboration with Eiichiro Oda, author of ONE PIECE born and raised in Kumamoto City, a total of 10 statues of the Straw Hat Pirates of ONE PIECE have been installed throughout Kumamoto Prefecture. The One Piece statues are part of a larger project to help Kumamoto recover after the 2016 earthquakes and are being built thanks to the cooperation of and extremely generous donation from Mr. Oda.

Shimizu Panorama Tour
This tour takes you on a journey through the past and present of Shimizu Port at the Verkehr Museum, followed by a scenic drive up to Nihondaira, a famous mountaintop viewing spot. From there, enjoy sweeping views of the Suruga Bay, central Shizuoka City, and—on a clear day—the majestic Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps. “Outstanding Day in Nagasaki ”
We had an outstanding day in Nagasaki with our driver / guide Katsu. It rained all day, but that didn’t stop us from seeing the sites. The atomic bomb museum and related bomb sites were amazing. We had read or studied about the dropping of the atomic bomb, but seeing this in person really put its significance in real terms. Katsu explained the differences between the atomic bombs in Nagasaki & Hiroshima. Quite interesting. Katsu was an excellent guide. We all would recommend him as a guide & will contact him in the future when we’re back in Japan.
