The Nichinan Coast: Aoshima, Udo, and Obi (full day by car)
This full day car tour takes in the beautiful Nichinan Coast, combining spectacular scenery, architecture, and history. We start at Aoshima Beach, known for its island shrine, botanical gardens, and sub-tropical scenery. Then we drive the wild Nichinan Coast, w/plenty of photo ops, to the mysterious Udo Jingu (shrine), precariously carved into seaside rock face. Then, on to the preserved samurai/merchant houses in the castle town of Obi, where coffee can be enjoyed in 300-year old surroundings.

As part of a collaboration with Eiichiro Oda, author of ONE PIECE born and raised in Kumamoto City, a total of 10 statues of the Straw Hat Pirates of ONE PIECE have been installed throughout Kumamoto Prefecture. The One Piece statues are part of a larger project to help Kumamoto recover after the 2016 earthquakes and are being built thanks to the cooperation of and extremely generous donation from Mr. Oda.

“An Unforgettable Day in Kamakura – ask for Kaku!”
We booked the private nine-hour Kamakura Customized Day Tour through Stanley Trip Japan via GoWithGuide, and it was one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip. Our guide/driver Kaku was wonderful — professional, knowledgeable, and a genuine pleasure to spend the day with. Kamakura is such a magical destination, and having a full private day to explore it at our own pace made all the difference. We visited the iconic Great Buddha, which was truly awe-inspiring and exceeded all expectations, strolled through the beautiful Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and made our way out to the charming island of Enoshima. Kaku guided us seamlessly through all of it, making sure our group of six could take everything in without feeling rushed. If you’re considering a day trip to Kamakura, don’t hesitate — this tour is absolutely worth it. And if you’re lucky enough to have Kokua as your guide, you’re in for a treat. Highly recommend Stanley Trip Japan for anyone visiting the Tokyo area!
