About Tour Guide Noriko O.
Hi! Dear my future guest! I hope you are well. Hard conditions have been still going on but I'm so excited to welcome you.
During the pandemic, I've got certificates as a medical interpreter and had chance to work at a hospital in Tokyo. It was a great opportunity such as to attend patients with covid and others illnesses. I came to reconsider safety and security is very important for travellers to relax and enjoy.
I live in Chiba prefecture, commuting area to Tokyo. I was born in a family of Buddhism priest in Fukushima, So, I like to show you traditional temples and shrines just as a part of everyday life. I also like nature, arts, fashion, foodie....maybe everything! The attraction of Tokyo is mixture of something new and something old. Please feel many attractive scenes with me!
I started my carrer as a tour conductor and visited many countries and had a chance to live in the Philippines for 5 years and US for 1 year. I remember people were so kind and generous to me. That's the reason why I am a tour guide now to do something helpful for guests from all over the world. So please don't hesitate to tell me your interest, I'm willing to be with you almost everywhere around Tokyo and Japan!

Experience of Fantastic Homa Ritual of Buddhism and Cozy Kiyosumi Park
Tour will start at Kiyosumi Park which is also a typical strolling style Japanese garden. It's not so big, so very suitable to warm up your day. Then, let's take a walk downtown area to Fukagawa-Fudo temple which belongs to Shingon sect, one of the oldest, Esoteric Buddhism sect in Japan where we can experience Homa ritual.

“Friendly Guide, but the Tour Could Be More In-Depth”
We recently toured Tokyo with Noriko and found her to be a kind and helpful guide. While there were some positive moments, the overall experience could have been more engaging. The itinerary included stops at the Imperial Palace, Edo-Tokyo Museum, and Asakusa. We chose to skip the Edo-Tokyo Museum since it would require a half-day to properly explore, and we felt it wouldn’t be the best use of time with a guide. At the Imperial Palace, we only viewed the exterior, with limited explanation or interaction, which left us wishing for more depth and context. On the plus side, one of us wasn’t feeling well during the tour, and Noriko went out of her way to help us find a pharmacy for medicine, which we greatly appreciated. Afterward, she took us to a fantastic lunch spot that lifted our spirits and made for a pleasant conclusion to the day. Noriko’s English was conversational but not always clear, which occasionally made it challenging to follow her explanations. Despite this, her kindness and willingness to assist stood out. With more detailed storytelling and deeper engagement at each stop, we believe her tours could be even more enjoyable for future clients.

“A wonderful first visit to Japan”
We planned a short trip to Japan and decided to stay in Tokyo so we could take in as much of the city as possible. Noriko was very kind, patient and flexible with us. She brought us to many fun places in Shibuya, Ginza, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Asakusa, as well as the cat street district and the Sanrio puroland. She was very informative about the history and customs of the areas we visited. Her guidance was indispensable for us, a family of five who did not have much time to prepare ourselves to speak let alone read the language. She showed us some hidden gems such as a quiet local temple in shinjuku that was rich with history. She found a tiny cafe for us just a block from our hotel, it was somewhat hidden and one could miss it easily. She was understanding when our young daughter was tired on the second day and found other closer things for us to do. We are very happy to have met Noriko-san and hope that she will guide us again if we are ever fortunate again to visit beautiful Japan!
