Hi, I am Shinya, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I was born in Tokyo and brought up there. I have lived in Tokyo for more than 40 years. Since I am a Tokyoite, I am able to give you precious information about places which are not written on ordinary guide books. I would like to support you to make your trip in Japan much more fun and wonderful! I want to make you smile, surprise and happy throurgh the tour!
Art and architecture are my favorite things. I like to look at works of art like Japanese and Western paintings, Ukiyoe, and tea bowls, and something like that.
I also like to see buildings designed by famous architects such as Kengo Kuma, Tange Kenzo, Tadao Ando, Kisho Kurokawa, Sou Fujimoto and like that.
I am a lover of tennis. I have been playing tennis for more than 40 years!
I have visited Melbourne in Australia to see the Australinan Open in 2020 just before Corona Pandemic. I visited New York to see the U.S. Open Tennis many years ago.
Let's enjoy exploring Japan!
I look forward to seeing you!
Shinya

We had Shinya as our guide for 2 days in Tokyo and he did a truly outstanding job. He is knowledgeable, personable, well prepared with details and information about the sites we visited and went out of his way to ensure that we were making the most of our time. His recommendations for lunch were fantastic and he tailored our itinerary to focus on our areas of interest. We do not hesitate to recommend Shinya to anybody looking for a great guide. Thank you Shinya for a wonderful time in Tokyo !

Shinya went out of his way to tailor the tour to my interests. Walking is a great way to get the feel of a city, and Tokyo is many small cities in one. The focus on Omotesando and nearby museums (and one not so nearby!) made it possible to experience the diversity of this amazing city, including getting the hang of the subway system. We covered a lot of ground in one day, and Shinya was so helpful in guiding me to every destination by the end of the day. He also personally researched some of the non-standard destinations I suggested in preparation for the tour. I was particularly surprised and delighted to be provided with a written guide to the buildings we viewed in Omotesando - what a thoughtful addition and memento of the tour! Thanks Shinya.
Dear Ruth, Thank you so much for your terrific review!!! I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour. I also enjoyed myself very much, since your favorite things to do, such as watching nice architectures, and watchig art, is the same as mine! It was good to know you. I enjoyed talking with you and walked a lot. As you mentioned, walking is a good way to get the feel of a city. I could't agree more. Thank you so much, Ruth. Shinya

We had a great time on our tour with Shinya. He's everything you could want in a tour guide: entertaining, knowledgeable, and communicative in advance. The Omotesando architecture tour took us to many interesting buildings (both on the main street and off the beaten path) that we would have never discovered on our own. We also asked that he take us to the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel in Saitama, which requires a Japanese-speaking escort. He had never been there before, and he went out of his way to go there and research it for us ahead of time before taking us there. Shinya made sure the last day of our trip was memorable, and we highly recommend him!
Dear Kristen, I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour very much. Thank you so much for the excellent review for me. I also had a great time with you. Thanks to you, I was able to go to “Underground Flood Control Channel”, which I never thought I would go. It was a very good social learning experience for me. So, I am very grateful to you. Thank you very much!!! Please visit Japan again in the future. I look forward to seeing you again in Japan. Shinya

We loved our tour of Akihabara with Shinya! He did a great job of tailoring the tour to my teens’ interests. We enjoyed learning the history of Ahihabara and we’re glad that Shinya convinced us to try a maid cafe. It was really fun and gave us great insight into modern Japanese pop culture. We enjoyed talking with him about Japanese life. We are especially grateful for him showing us an amazing manga store off the beaten path for my daughter to find a specific manga. We would have never found this amazing store without Shinya. I highly recommend him as a tour guide!
Dear Stephanie, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I am very glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed the "Akihabara Walking Tour". I also enjoyed talking with you and your nice family. I look forward to seeing you again in Japan in the near future. Please take care of your health until then. Arigatou gozai-mashita, or Thank you very much. Best regards, Shinya
