From the late 16th century, it was the residence of the feudal lord Maeda family of Kaga Domain for 280 years, over 14 generations.
Hashizume Gate
It was the final checkpoint to the main area, and only very important people could get in. Other people had to wait in front. The frame is made only of wood, and no nails were used.

This was the private garden of Maeda family. The feudal lord used to admire the view from the house while performing tea ceremonies.
