There is Merlion in Singapore and in Sado, we have this cute and sacred statue now.
This statue made one of the headlines of Yahoo Japan news and many locals and tourists visit Chokokuji temple in Hatano, Sado Island.
When I first heard about the idea of this statue from the priest, Mr. Tomita, I was a bit pessimistic.
Is there someone who donate millions of yen to build this statue??
Why Mr. Tomita decided to find one person who donate money for this statue??
Tomita san loves Sado and wants to revitalize this beautiful yet lonely island off Niigata Prefecture.
