JR Himeji station central gate
- The station has 2 gates. Central gate is on the west side. You'll see shopping mall in front. I'll wait close to the gate, so you won't miss.
Himeji castle, popularly known as Egret castle, has been virtually unharmed, by tremors and the wars. The 400-year old castle was listed as the first Japanese World Cultural Heritage site in 1993 because of its well thought out strategic layout and the dazzling white-plastered beauty. It is one of the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. In Nishino-Maru (west bailey) you can take a glimpse of the life of Sen-Hime (granddaughter of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who unified Japan in 17th century ). From the top of the main tower you'll see the stunning view of Himeji city.
Koko-en is very famous for autumn leaves, red, yellow, orange. It consists of 9 different kinds of gardens, and you can taste Macha (Japanese green tea) in one of them (tea garden). In Koko-en many movies and TV dramas have been shot, such as "Ruroni-Kenshin".
Let's stroll around the castle town through Miyuki-dori street & Omizo-suji alley. Have lunch if you like. I'll introduce Hemeji's specialties, restaurants and cafe.
If we have time, we can visit Harimakoku-sosha, a popular shrine where a wedding and Shichigosan (event to pray for children's happy and healthy life) are held.

Hello! I'm Nao. I was born and raised in Himeji, which is famous for the Himeji Castle (egret castle).
I'm guiding in Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Hyogo (especially Kobe and Himeji).
I'd been in the US for three years attending a university.
During the stay I went to the Yellow Stone twice, and visited California. I took a summer French class for a month in Canada, so I speak French a little.
I love travelling. I went to many places in Japan. I visited Hokkaido, Okinawa, Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Nikko, Mt. Fuji and so on.
I love music ― pops, rock, gospel and classical music. I'm a fan of Beethoven.
Some day I'd like to go to Vienna and visit his houses and the forest, where he composed "the Pastoral Symphony".
There are lots of attractions in Japan. You can visit shrines, temples, deer park etc. You can enjoy USJ, river cruise, anime museum, Japanese sake, Onsen and of course delicious Japanese dishes.
Let's have fun together !
