Meeting Point
in Kumano Kodo museum at Takijiri Oji
- You get off at the bus stop of Takijiri. You will find KUMANO KODO MUSEUM easily across the river. It take only 1mins to get there from the bus stop.
Kumano Kodo museum
You can know Kumano kodo history and see some artifacts there.
Takijiri Oji shrine
It is the entrance of Kumano sacred world. You will see the sign post written 'Starting point'.
Experience of feel reborn
You can go through a narrow hole like mother's womb and feel reborn.
Iimori san look-out point
You can see a beautiful mountain range.
Kumano Takahara shrine
The shrine is the oldest religious building around Takahara which is about 600 years old. And also you can see the big camphor tree of 800 years old which is the object of worship.

You can see the Japanese beautiful rural landscape.

Mt. Koya, Kumano and Kumano Kodo Three Days
Mt. Koya is a sacred site for Buddhism which was founded in India and brought to Japan in the 6th Century. Kumano is a sacred site for Shintoism which is rooted in the nature worship in Japan. And Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes connect these sacred sites. On this tour, we will visit Mt. Koya(Danjo Garan, Honzan, Okuno-in) and Kumano (Hongu, Hayatama and Nachi Grand Shrines, and Nachi Waterfalls), and we will walk on Kumano Kodo Daimon-zaka Pilgrimage Route.
