Kawagoe is a historic city located in Saitama Prefecture, just 30 to 60 minutes by train from central Tokyo.
It is often called "Little Edo" (小江戸 / Koedo) because of its well-preserved streets and buildings that reflect the Edo period (1603–1868).
Kawagoe has many attractions, so I can customize the tour according to your preferences!

Meeting Point
Hon Kawagoe Station
- It is operated by the Seibu Railway and is located on the Seibu Shinjuku Line, which connects directly to Seibu Shinjuku Station in central Tokyo.
Kurazukuri Street (Traditional Warehouse District)
It is the heart of Kawagoe's historical townscape, often referred to as “Koedo” or “Little Edo.” The street is lined with traditional clay-walled warehouse-style buildings (kurazukuri) that date back to the late Edo period.
You can soak in the historic streets, enjoy snack-hopping at the famous Candy Alley, and snap photos at the iconic Bell Tower. Upon request, we can arrange extras like kimono rentals or sake tasting, tailored to your interests.
Lunch (Unagi or Sweet Potato)
Kawagoe is famous for both unagi (grilled eel) and sweet potatoes,
so if you’re hungry, enjoy a hearty unagi meal, and if you prefer something sweet, try the delicious sweet potato desserts!
Honmaru Goten of Kawagoe Castle
Kawagoe Castle’s Honmaru Goten, built in 1848, is a rare surviving castle palace structure. Visitors can explore its tatami rooms, reception halls, and exhibits that showcase the samurai culture of the Edo era.
Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine
Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine with a history of over 1,500 years.
It is especially famous as a shrine of matchmaking and good relationships. Visitors are drawn by its unique “tai-mikuji” (sea bream-shaped fortune slips), colorful ema (wooden prayer plaques), and seasonal events.
During summer, the shrine’s wind chime tunnel creates a magical atmosphere, making it a popular photo spot.
