Adachi Museum of Art
The Adachi Museum's garden has been ranked the best garden in Japan for 23 consecutive years by "The Journal of Japanese Gardening". It is renowned for its collection of modern Japanese paintings, especially by Yokoyama Taikan, and other notable artists. The museum also displays ceramic works by Kitaoji Rosanjin, a master of Japanese aesthetics and culinary culture.
Strolling along Shiomi Nawate street & Browsing shops in Kyo-mise shopping street
Shiomi Nawate street is designated as Cultural Preservation Area. You can enjoy Samurai Residence and beautiful street lined with pine trees along the moat. Kyo-mise shopping street has many traditional craft shops and local specialty stores. You can find souvenirs like Japanese sweets, green tea and pottery.

Though we use my own car as a means of transportation, comfortable shoes for walking are recommendable.
As for lunch, why don't you try traditional Japanese food? For example, Soba (buckwheat noodle or Japanese set meal).

I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter living in Shimane (western part). I was born and brought up in Shimane and worked as a teacher of English in high school for more than 30 years. I have been interested in tour guides for a long time. I visited many places of interests throughout Japan and above all I was charmed with Tokyo, Hokkaido and Okinawa.

“Amazing personal tour of Shimane”
Our tour guide, Daizaburo Sab, was truly exceptional! He provided a wealth of knowledge about Matsue Castle and Izumo Taisha Shrine, the history, and the surrounding culture. His passion for the shrine was contagious, and his interests made the tour incredibly engaging. We learned so much more about this amazing place than we ever would have on our own and it was one of our favorite castles. Daizaburo's dedication to providing a meaningful experience for all visitors is truly appreciated. He even arranged some amazing visits to shops we were interested in and surprised us with a stop at the Tori gates outside a shrine in the area. Lunch at a samurai house was one of the highlights of the day as well. Thank you for a great trip!

I'm glad to hear you three seemed to enjoy the tour. This was the first time for me to use a car as a means of transportation. But it was good ultimately, because we can be more flexible handling the schedule. You were both very friendly and considerate. And I was glad to know that your love of Japan was great!
