Discover Hidden Hayama by Private Car with a Local Guide
Hayama is a hidden gem, hard to reach without a car and still largely undiscovered by visitors.
Home to the Imperial Villa, it offers a refined, peaceful atmosphere. We’ll visit Isshiki Beach, a stunning “royal beach” selected by CNN as one of the world’s best.
Blending nature and art, this journey takes you through forests, shrines, and inspiring museums, with beautiful views of the sea and mountains.
If you’re lucky, you may even glimpse Mount Fuji—like a scene from a Hokusai painting.

Meeting Point
JR Zushi Station (East Exit)
- We will meet in front of the ticket gates at the East Exit of JR Zushi Station. After exiting the gates, please look for your guide holding a sign. JR Zushi Station is easily accessible from Tokyo and Kamakura. If you have any trouble finding the meeting point, please feel free to contact me.
Morito Shrine in Hayama
Before entering Hayama, we begin by paying our respects to the local deity—a very Japanese way to start the journey.
Morito Shrine is beautifully located between the forest and the sea, and is dedicated to a sea deity. It offers a peaceful atmosphere and stunning coastal views.
Yamaguchi Hosyun Memorial Museum
We will visit the Yamaguchi Hosyun Memorial Museum, the former residence and studio of a renowned Japanese-style painter.
Surrounded by a tranquil garden, the museum offers a glimpse into the life and work of the artist, blending traditional aesthetics with modern sensibilities. The space itself reflects a deep connection to nature, light, and seasonal beauty.
This quiet and intimate setting provides a unique opportunity to experience Japanese art in a more personal and inspiring way.
LUNCH
For lunch, I would like to decide in advance together with you based on your preferences.
We offer a wide range of options, including Japanese cuisine such as soba, tempura, and sushi, as well as international choices. I can recommend places from casual to more upscale restaurants, and to avoid crowds and long wait times, I will make a reservation in advance. If a restaurant is fully booked, we can explore other options together.
Hayama is known for its beautiful dining locations, including ocean-view restaurants and charming soba spots overlooking scenic rice terraces, making the experience even more special.
The Museum of Modern Art, Hayama
We will visit the Museum of Modern Art, Hayama, a beautifully designed museum set along the coast.
Known for its clean, minimalist architecture, the museum harmonizes with the surrounding sea and sky. Inside, you can enjoy a thoughtful collection of modern and contemporary art, while large windows offer stunning ocean views that become part of the experience.
This unique space blends art, nature, and architecture, creating a calm and inspiring atmosphere.
Isshiki Beach
We will visit Isshiki Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Japan.
Located near the Imperial Villa, this “royal beach” has long been loved by the Imperial Family and is known for having some of the clearest water in the area.
Here, it’s time to relax and unwind. With beautiful views of Mount Fuji on clear days, you can enjoy a peaceful moment by the sea and take in the natural beauty of Hayama.
Ending Point
