“An Outstanding Day in Kanazawa with an Exceptional Guide – Megumi (Megu)! A Truly Memorable Experience!”

Our port call in Kanazawa was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our cruise, and much of the credit goes to our wonderful guide, Megumi (Megu). Travelling as a group of 14, we had originally prepared our own preferred itinerary, which we then worked closely with Megu to refine and perfect. Her local knowledge, excellent suggestions and thoughtful planning enabled us to put together a wonderfully packed programme, making the absolute most of our limited time in Kanazawa without ever feeling rushed. Megu took care of all the transport arrangements, ensuring our entire group was collected directly from the cruise port, comfortably transported between attractions and returned to the ship in good time. Everything was exceptionally well organised and ran seamlessly throughout the day. But what truly made this excursion special was Megu herself. Beyond being an extremely knowledgeable, professional and attentive guide, she is an incredibly warm, kind and engaging person. Her genuine enthusiasm and deep affection for Kanazawa were infectious. She didn’t simply show us the sights; she shared her love for her city with us, bringing its history, culture and traditions to life in a wonderfully personal way. Her warmth, patience and cheerful personality made everyone in our group feel welcome and ensured that the day was as enjoyable as it was interesting. We came away not only having discovered the beauty of Kanazawa but also feeling that we had spent the day with a wonderful friend. Megu is an absolute credit to her profession and a fantastic ambassador for Kanazawa. We cannot praise or recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Megu, for making our visit so memorable. You truly made our day special!

“A fascinating introduction to Kanazawa with an excellent and kind guide”

Megumi met us in our hotel lobby soon after we arrived in Kanazawa, and along with our stroll through two Geiko districts, gave us a wonderful introduction to her hometown, including a very helpful walk through the nearby Omicho market (we now know where we can buy delicious affordable food for the remainder of our stay). As we entered the geiko districts, she brought them to life in detail so we could sense the lives of the former inhabitants and imagine the streets as they once were. I was suffering some pain from a foot injury, but Megumi kindly offered breaks to help me manage throughout the tour. However, I found her informative stories of the local areas so fascinating that she also distracted me from the pain. It was an extremely worthwhile tour, and when we finished, Megumi helped us catch a taxi back to a dinner venue near our hotel - one we chose from several she had suggested. There, after she'd left, we had a wonderful local meal for an affordable price. I couldn't ask for anyone to look after us better. Megumi is friendly and kind, as well as being an informative guide. We enjoyed her company and felt lucky to have taken her tour on our first afternoon in Kanazawa. I highly recommend her to anyone visiting!
