Amakusa Custom Tour - Review

So my brother and I flew to Amakusa from Fukuoka to have our tour with Sakie. Not only is she a welcoming and wonderful person, but she's also an excellent tour guide as well. We went to the Amakusa Christian Museum and she was was more than happy to give us the background of historical events and various figures as we walked through the exhibits. The seafood restaurant we went to was great! The raw oysters, the Amakusa Croquettes, the Daioh Chicken, and the Salmon Roe and Uni Donburi were all excellent. If you have a dietary preference, she will be able to find something that caters to your taste. The dolphin watching was pretty cool. In addition to seeing some dolphins on the cruise, it was nice and relaxing. On top of that, we got a good view of the islands. For the last part of the custom itinerary, she drove up to Kuratake Shrine which is on the highest point of Amakusa on Mount Kuratake. The drive was a long one, but the view from the top was well worth it. After spending some time walking around the shrine, we stopped by a giant Fugu monument before heading back to the airport. Amakusa is an underrated city and a hidden gem. I'm glad that Sakie was our tour guide. If you decide to book a tour with Sakie in either Amakusa or any city that she works as a tour guide in, you will not be disappointed. Thank you again, Sakie. Jason and I had a great a time today! If we're in Kyushu again one day, we'll be sure to keep you in mind if you're available. Arigato Gozaimasu!

Thank you very much, Vincent-san, for your wonderful review and kind words. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It was a pleasure to spend the day with you and Jason-san, and I’m so glad you enjoyed Amakusa’s history, food, and scenery. Your detailed feedback means a lot, and I’m happy to hear the tour met your expectations. Amakusa is indeed a hidden gem, and I’m grateful I could share it with you. I would be delighted to guide you again if you return to Kyushu in the future. Thank you again, and I wish you both many more great travel experiences in Japan.

A great trip to Amakusa!

Sakie was a wonderful guide! We were staying in Nagasaki so we came over to the island via the Mogi Port Ferry to Tomioka port. I requested Tomioka port as a custom pickup location and Sakie got us from there instead of the usual spot with no issues. Sakie's English was very good and she was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We learned lots of great things and interesting local stories. For lunch we chose to do the sushi option in Sakitsu which was tremendous. Very unique style of sushi where the chef spiced each piece for us. It was all delicious. Thanks so much Sakie! We couldn't have seen everything without you!

Thank you so much, Lydia-san, for your wonderful five-star review! It truly meant a lot that you and your friend made the journey all the way from Nagasaki to Amakusa. I really enjoyed our conversations during the tour—I wish we had had even more time to talk! I was so impressed by how much you had already researched about Amakusa’s history before the visit. I hope you’ll continue exploring Nagasaki as well—though I’m sure your list is already quite full! I’m also so glad you enjoyed the local sushi. It’s always a pleasure to share the flavors of our region. Please do come back to Amakusa again someday. I’d love to guide you once more!

an unforgetable day with Sukie

From the start til the end our custom tour was well organized. Communication with Sakie was easy and efficent. Due to bad weather we had to change our schedules and Sakie instantely added some new locations to visit. She booked a lovely japanese local barbeque restaurant, which was an unforgetable expierence. All in all Sakie is the perfect guide and I would highly recommend her.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Gerog San. It was an honor to be with you and Marta San. I had a great time talking with you two experienced and topical people. I take my hat off to your observant eye for spotting that I have a daughter! I hope you had the chance to try the black beef in Kagoshima. We could not see the crater in Aso this time, so please visit Kumamoto the next time you come to Japan!
