Tkachiho & Kumamoto castle Customized Tour

“Mai was the best! ”
A wonderful day out through the countryside with a local. The photos I found online when I was researching my trip doesn't do this place justice - it was definitely worth getting a little off the beaten track. Although Takachiho Gorge has recently become Instagram famous, it still felt very manageable and foreign tourists were still the exception. Beforehand I was disappointed I didn't manage to get boat rental tickets (they sold out within hours online as soon as they dropped 2 weeks prior) but on the day we didn't feel like we missed out at all. Mai managed to fit everything into the day without feeling rushed and there was the perfect mix of everything for us and our teenage boys. We really enjoyed the charming farm to table soba restaurant Mai took us to for lunch. Kumamoto Castle was an impressive way to cap off the day. Mai is a kind, lovely companion for a scenic day out around Takachiho and Kumamoto - thank you so much for the memories we'll treasure as a family forever!

We wanted to visit all 10 statues of the one piece characters and did do with lots of time left to explore Kumamoto on our own. Mr. Murakami was such a sweet man! Even with limited English, he tried really hard to let us know about the different cities/ sites and what they’re known for. He even bought us a little snack to munch on while driving around. We could tell he’s done this several times and we appreciate all the work he did! Definitely book if you’re trying to get all 10 statues in a day!

“A Day trip to Takachiko Gorge and Mt.Aso”
Our experience with TR Taxi has been really great. Right from contacting them initially, we have had very pleasant conversations, all our questions were answered with patience and care. We also had a boat reservation at Takachiko gorge and they were kind enough to suggest us the start time so that we can reach the gorge by our reservation time. The booking process was also very simple. On the day of the trip, our assigned driver Mr. Matsumoto San was already waiting before the designated time. He was a very sweet, polite and kind hearted. Even though we couldn’t communicate in English, we used google translate and could converse when necessary. His driving was excellent, very safe and was well well versed with the routes as well. Overall we really had a great time and enjoyed every bit of the tour.
