Dotonbori is perhaps the most famous place in Osaka and as such contains atmosphere unlike any other place. Always busy and vibrating. I’ll customize this tour for your needs, going more historic or gourmet way, showing hidden alleys and explaining about food and importance of local venues, restaurants and markets, mentioning local habits and ways and embedding these into a wider picture of Osaka’s background.

10:30 AM

Meeting Point

Don Quijote Dotonbori River-side entrance

- Meeting right at the heart of the district - next to the main canal itself. From here, you can start absorbing the atmosphere with me and we decide which exact way to go according to your wish.

11:00 AM

Ebisu Bridge and Glico Man Sign

Both dominants of the area, taking us further to the edge between Dotonbori itself and shopping arcades on the other side, drawing more lines to the picture of this place.

11:30 AM

Shinsaibashi-Suji Street

Premier retail paradise, 600m of 400 years old covered shopping street that stores uniqueness, specialty, craftsmanship and arts of not only cuisine-type.

12:00 PM

Hozenji Temple and Backalleys of Dotonbori

Delving into the backstreets and possibly absorbing their quiet charm, learning a little about local roots and origins, observing thus a calmer current within otherwise loud landscape. Restaurants, pubs and a temple that contains rare statues and lanterns.

12:30 PM

Kuromon Market

Also known as Osaka’s Kitchen, covered public market with about 200 stalls, dating back to about year 1700. Offering premier-quality delicacies, seasonal fruits, fresh fish dishes and many more. Please finish your tour with me here and enjoy more time after its end.

About Tour Guide Ondrej R.

Dear Travellers! My name is Ondrej and I have been living in Kyoto for six years. I’m currently conducting tours in English and Czech languages.

My hometown is Prague, Czech Republic, but I have left it behind years ago to live in Japan forever.

In my young years, I did a wide portfolio of various sports including soccer, futsal, skateboarding, cycling, boxing and athletics (both competition/ hobby level), so I can say that I am a sportsman. However, I reached my biggest successes at chessboard - playing the highest youth chess league of my country and finally attaining a chess coach licence.

At the academic level, I studied Human Sciences combined with Natural Sciences at University.

My primary goal is to satisfy your needs in a new city as for what you’d like to see. Based on a given venue, I focus on incorporating its meaning into a complete/ bigger picture of the whole culture and historical system.

If you’re not sure, I’m always happy to build a convenient tour plan involving appropriate amount of walking and transfers.

I have been raising my children in Kyoto for six years and realizing that traveling with children may sometimes be a challenge, I invite tours with children as well.

I have experience working with and guiding people from all over the world. Kyoto is a precious Japanese artifact and it is filled with unique places and cultural values and heritages.

Osaka offers a wide array of cultural meanings and cuisine delicacies, as well as hidden corners and pleasurable views.

I also love to take my clients to cities of Nara and Uji as they are so important for understanding the core of Japanese soul.

Please contact me to book, customize or just inquire regarding tours.

Once you are ready, we can discuss which of yours or mines favorite places we visit. Until then, have a good day and travel safe wherever you go.
