Meeting Point
Daigo Station Subway Tourniquets
- Daigo station is on the Tozai line of Kyoto’s Subway, third station from its end station Rokujizo. If you’re riding from the city center, you can transfer at Karasuma Oike Station.
Daigo-Ji Temple Main Entrance
Briefly walking through the built-in area, observing the character of the local neighborhoods, we will arrive to the main gate.
Daigo-Ji Temple Grounds
Containing many artifacts, religious and sacred items, as well as a tranquil cafe, Daigo-ji grounds offer plenty to explore, see and talk about.
Exit of the Daigo-Ji Temple
After seeing the Main Hall, Pond, Reliquaries, Pagoda, statues and features of Japanese Gardens, we will either proceed to the exit, possibly talk some more and according to the time move back to the subway station.

This tour involves some uphill walking, up to about 5 km of walk in total. The incline is moderately steep.
This tour is, unfortunately, not available by wheelchair.
Children of about six years of age should be able to make it without a wheelchair.
