Meeting Point
Exit 14 of Namba Station
- We will meet at Exit 14 of Namba Station. The closest and easiest access is from Osaka Metro Namba Station (Midosuji Line, Yotsubashi Line, or Sennichimae Line). Namba is a large station served by several lines, including Osaka Metro, Kintetsu, Nankai, and JR. If you are arriving from a different line, please follow the signs toward the Osaka Metro area and look for Exit 14.
Dotonbori Glico Sign
Let’s visit the famous Dotonbori Glico Sign for a photo opportunity.
Here, you’ll also learn about the origin of the town’s name and discover stories about the vibrant city of Osaka.
Japanese Sake Bar
At this cozy sake bar, you’ll enjoy a tasting of three different types of Japanese sake. You can choose according to your preference—from sweet to dry—or simply leave it to the bartender for a surprise. Depending on the season, you might also get to try limited seasonal sake.
My personal recommendation is to ask for the bartender’s choice—they’re great at finding the perfect match for your taste! Along with the sake, you’ll also enjoy obanzai, a style of home-cooked Japanese small dishes, giving you a true taste of local flavors.
Sushi Restaurant
Next, we’ll visit an authentic sushi restaurant where a skilled itamae (sushi chef) prepares your sushi right in front of you. Depending on the group size, you may be seated at a table.
If there are no strong dislikes, we recommend trying around 10 pieces of the chef’s selection, with the option to order more. Pairing your sushi with delicious sake or other drinks is also highly recommended.
While enjoying your meal, you’ll learn about what sushi truly is, its history and modern evolution, the beauty of Japanese cuisine, as well as insights into Japanese culture and daily life. It’s a dining experience that’s both delicious and enlightening.
Hozenji temple
Hozenji Temple (法善寺) is a small but famous temple located in Osaka’s Namba area, just a short walk from Dotonbori. Its highlight is the moss-covered statue of Fudō Myō-ō, a Buddhist deity. Visitors can pour water over the statue while making a wish, which has become a popular tradition.
Around the temple, you’ll also find Hozenji Yokocho, a narrow stone-paved alley with traditional restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy the atmosphere of old Osaka.
Karaoke Bar
Finally, we’ll visit a karaoke bar, either a lively New Half karaoke bar or a cozy karaoke snack bar run by a “mama”. If you have a preference, please let us know in advance, as we may be able to accommodate your choice.
Here, you can enjoy all-you-can-sing karaoke and all-you-can-drink. These are true hidden gems that tourists rarely find, but locals in Osaka are very friendly, so you’ll often get the chance to sing and have fun together with them.

I was born and raised in Osaka, so I’m a true local! I love traveling—both around Japan and overseas—and discovering new places, cultures, and of course… delicious food!
In addition to being a guide, I also run my own office as a certified labor and social security attorney in Japan. Thanks to this professional background, you can feel assured that I’m a trustworthy and responsible guide who can flexibly arrange tours to fit your needs.
Before starting my own practice, I also worked as a tour conductor for domestic bus tours, traveling all around Japan for a year. This experience gave me the chance to visit many regions and learn how to take care of guests in different travel settings.
I can take you on food tours to hidden local bars and restaurants loved by Osakans, or guide you through Japan’s rich history with visits to shrines, temples, and castles. Whether you want to experience Osaka like a local foodie or dive into cultural traditions, I’ll create a tour that’s perfect for you.
I’m also a photography enthusiast, so you’ll get some great photos taken by me as a souvenir from our tour!
