Shimizu Tour in July

We had an outstanding experience with our guide, Sayori. She met our group of 6 right outside our cruise ship at Shimizu Port, she was warm, organized, and incredibly knowledgeable. We started with a bus ride to Miho no Matsubara, where we walked through the beautiful pine grove to the beach and enjoyed spectacular views of Mt. Fuji from the shoreline. Sayori shared interesting information about the area’s history and significance, making the visit even more meaningful. We also rode the cable car to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine. The shrine itself is stunning, and although there are some steps to reach the main shrine, the climb is absolutely worth it. Sayori made sure everyone was comfortable and took the time to explain the history and cultural importance of everything we were seeing. One of the highlights of the day was our visit to the fish market. We invited Sayori to join us for lunch, and we’re so glad she accepted. She recommended several local specialties that we probably wouldn’t have ordered on our own, and every recommendation was delicious. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy authentic local cuisine and conversation with her, and it made the experience feel much more personal. Throughout the day, Sayori was friendly, patient, and attentive. Transportation was straightforward, and we appreciated the flexibility of using public transportation and taxis, which kept the experience authentic while allowing us to see more than we could have on our own. We never felt rushed, yet we were able to see so much in a relatively short amount of time. She exceeded our expectations, and spending the day with her was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.

I can't express in words how much I appreciate your review of my tour. It sure was a lovely weather and Mt Fuji showed her face all day to shine the tour. Reading your review has brought me back to that day. I also had a wonderful time showing you places, sharing culture and customs and local speecialized dishes. It was great to see you challenging them!! Having wonderful tourists like you gives me energy to go one step forward. Mucho Gracias Arigato Gozaimasu. Best Regards Sayori

Fantastic guided tour with Sayori

Sayori was a wonderful guide and we had such a great day with her. We outlined what we'd like to do, and asked for her guidance, and she came back with a great itinerary. Although Mt Fuji didn't want to show her face, we saw so many lovely areas, including the bamboo forest, the waterfalls and the lake. Sayori also organised for us to have a tea ceremony at the last minute. We would highly recommend Sayori - as well as being a great guide, she's such a beautiful human.

Dear Catherine san Thank you for a wonderful message. I hope you all enjoyed my tour. Spending time with lovely ladies sure made my day!! I couldn't blow the clouds away for you but I hope you enjoyed the atmosphere of the very countryside of Japan. Please come back to Japan someday again. Thank you Best Regards Sayori

An Unforgettable, Authentic Escape in Shimizu!

If you are looking for a day that feels less like a "tour" and more like visiting a dear friend, Sayori is the perfect guide. Since she is married to a Canadian, her English is flawless, making communication effortless and deep. Our main goal was to escape the crowds, and Sayori delivered perfection. One of the highlightswas the Tea Farm. As a dedicated coffee drinker, I was skeptical, but the experience was transformative—tasting 20 different varieties of tea in such a serene, soulful atmosphere was unforgettable. Sayori also went above and beyond to personalize our day. While she organized a wonderful, authentic Onsen visit for me (completely away from the mainstream), she took my strawberry-loving wife and our driver strawberry picking. Seeing two "strawberry-happy" women radiating joy when I finished my bath was a sight to behold! Though Mount Fuji was shy behind the clouds that day, the genuine warmth of the people and the beauty of the seaside at Miho no Matsubara more than made up for it. Sayori didn't just show us Shimizu; she gave us a day of peace and local charm we will never forget. Thank you so much and all the best4you Sayori.

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful message. It truly means a lot to me. I’m so happy to hear that you felt the day was more like visiting a friend than being on a tour—that is exactly the experience I always hope to create. It was a pleasure spending time with you both and sharing some of the quieter, more local sides of Shimizu. I will never forget the smiles after the strawberry picking—such a joyful moment. Although Mount Fuji stayed hidden, I’m grateful we were still able to enjoy the peaceful beauty of Miho no Matsubara together. Thank you again for your kind words and for choosing to spend your day with me. I hope our paths cross again someday, and I wish you both many more wonderful travels ahead. Warm regards, Sayori
