About Tour Guide Kahori M.
Hi, I'm Kahori, a nationally licensed guide interpreter, and have just started working with GoWithGuide! I’m delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors.
Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.
I look forward to meeting you, interacting with you, and also, learning from you!

“Perfect Balance of Darkness and Light ”
Had a positively excellent experience with Kahori. She was an incredible guide who managed and thought of every last detail while being highly communicative through it all. She was so thoughtful - bringing us a gift for our honeymoon and even packing extra umbrellas in case we forgot ours when it rained. She was incredibly cognizant of our time constraints and was working hard to make sure we stayed on schedule. Ultimately we decided to move our train time back because we felt there was so much to cover and wanted to continue to learn more from Kahori. She went above and beyond - giving us two extra hours of her time so we would not feel rushed while learning about the devastation of Hiroshima. She even took a cab with us to the train station to ensure we had no issues getting on our train. I’ve never had a more caring guide! She was also wonderfully adaptable. When she learned we loved oysters she brought us to a great local oyster shop. In addition to the care and careful planning she showed us - she was just a joy to spend time with. She was very knowledgeable about current events and we found it interesting to discuss the different politics of our countries. Cannot recommend her enough. We hope to come back to Japan and hope to get to see Kahori again!

“Memorable afternoon”
Once our tour was booked, Karhori had been in contact with us. She was very flexible with timings and our itinerary. We had a memorable afternoon with her showing us important sights of Hiroshima giving us the the local history. She was patient with our questions. She even took us a local restaurant for us to try vegetarian Okonomiyaki, a local delicacy. I strongly recommend her as a local guide.

Thank you very much for having me and for the wonderful conversation. This was a truly memorable tour for me as well. It was also the day Hiroshima Castle closed to the public! I will never forget the two of you.
