Yokohama Shore Excursion: Port Terminal Pick-Up & Chinatown Food Crawl (4 Hours)
Arriving in Yokohama by cruise ship?
Based on my 15 years living in Yokohama, this private shore excursion is tailored smoothly around your ship's docking schedule. We will stroll along Yokohama waterfront before entering Chinatown alleys for a curated street food crawl.
*If your cruise ship is staying in Yokohama overnight and you prefer late afternoon/evening tour, please message me directly! I'll be happy to adjust our starting time to match your plans.
Itinerary
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
Cruise Ship Passenger Terminal Arrival Lobby (Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal OR Daikoku Pier)
- I will be waiting for you directly inside your cruise terminal's main passenger arrival/disembarkation lobby. I will be holding a welcoming sign with your name clearly written on it so you can find me instantly as you step off the ship!
Cruise Terminal Arrival Lobby Meetup
We meet directly inside the ship's passenger disembarkation lobby. After a quick greeting and introduction, we will step right out of the port gates to begin our flat, beautiful bayside walking journey together.
Minato Mirai 21 Harbor Stroll
We emerge onto the wide, futuristic waterfront. We will take a long morning stroll along the harbor to enjoy the crisp morning sea breeze, view the historic ships, and snap gorgeous photos before the daytime crowds arrive.
Yamashita Park & Red Brick Warehouses
We walk past the old historic Red Brick Warehouses and explore the waterfront gardens of Yamashita Park. I will point out hidden port monuments that maps miss and share the fascinating stories of how this harbor town shaped modern Japan.
Yokohama Chinatown Hidden Food Crawl
We enter Japan's largest Chinatown exactly as the food stalls open their shutters! Instead of the tourist traps, I'll guide you into the side alleys to sample authentic, freshly steamed soup dumplings and local specialties.
Local Market Run & Terminal Return
We wrap up our food walk with a quick stop at a local marketplace for authentic snack souvenirs. We then make a smooth, stress-free stroll back to your cruise check-in terminal with plenty of time to spare before your ship departs!
Ending Point
Cruise Ship Passenger Terminal Departure Lobby (Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal OR Daikoku Pier)

Inclusions & Exclusions
• Private local guiding service (4 hours of dedicated guidance and port schedule management)
• 15 years of local resident insider knowledge and translation assistance
• Pick-up and drop-off flexibility directly inside your cruise ship passenger terminal arrival lobby
• I will capture photos of your group throughout our scenic waterfront and Chinatown walk and deliver them to you digitally after the tour!
• Personal transportation costs (Local train or bus fares if needed, though our route is a beautiful, direct seaside walk)
• Food, drinks, and snacks during our Chinatown street food crawl
ESTIMATED CASH TO BRING:
I recommend bringing roughly ¥2,000 to ¥3,000 JPY in cash per person for the tour date. While the large souvenir shops and retail warehouses easily accept international credit cards, the most authentic, independent side-alley street food stalls in Yokohama Chinatown strictly operate on cash (Japanese Yen) only.
Tour Important Information
• Disembarkation Process: Clearing ship customs and Japanese immigration can take time. I recommend heading to your ship's exit gate 20–30 minutes before our scheduled meeting time so you can walk out smoothly without feeling rushed.
• Peace of Mind Re-boarding: To ensure a relaxed return, our itinerary is built to bring you back to the passenger terminal roughly 1.5 to 2 hours before your ship's official "all aboard" sailing time. This gives you a massive safety cushion to pass back through ship security comfortably.

About Tour Guide Jalil E.
Hi, I'm Jalil ! I’ve called Japan my home for 15 years and speak English, French, and Arabic.
Let's be honest: you don't need a guide to read Wikipedia facts or show you Google Maps routes. Instead, travelers book a day with me for mental peace, authenticity, and deep local insight.
I absolutely love walking—it's how you truly learn a city and notice the charm of its tiny, hidden side streets. Spending a decade and a half living, working, and thriving in Kanagawa and Tokyo gives me firsthand knowledge of local networks and cultural nuances that algorithms miss completely.
Respecting your time and energy, most of my tours are efficient, high-value 4-hour experiences where I handle the "hard part" first. We will conquer the complex train hubs, bypass heavy crowds, and unlock local culture together. Once you have your bearings, I'll hand you a list of local secrets and leave you with total free time to explore securely on your own!
If you want a deep dive, I am always open to extending our journey into a full 8-hour day tour—just message me to scale the day.
With me, you get a trusted multilingual friend who understands your international perspective, expectations, and travel needs.
How I love to help my guests:
• Hidden Local Secrets: I guide you past crowded commercial tracks into cinematic residential side-streets, hidden 700-year-old shrines, and authentic local neighborhoods.
• Language & Etiquette Bridge: I act as your translator so you can comfortably eat at neighborhood spots with no English menus or browse traditional boutiques.
• Honest, Commission-Free Guiding: I never accept shop kickbacks or use tourist traps. My recommendations are 100% independent.
• Personal Photographer: I will gladly take nice photos of your group throughout our walk so everyone is in the picture!
I am fully flexible and happy to customize the pace, starting times, and locations to match your group's comfort. Send me a message, and let’s design your perfect day in Japan!

Yokohama Shore Excursion
This is a one-day shore excursion for those who visit Yokohama port during your cruise overseas. During the limited time see the must-see sites and experience some attractions of your interest. Yokohama is the second largest city in Japan with a population of about 3.8 million. It is the first port which opened to the world after a long seclusion policy by the last Samurai government (Tokugawa Shogunate). Enjoy both historical sites and newly developed seafront center.
