Nara Deer
I took 4 guests from Mexico to Nara on Jan 1st 2020. In Nara Park there are about 1,100 deers, so tourists enjoy feeding crackers to deers. When a guest nod one's head to a deer, Nara deer do the same pose.
Todaiji Tmple
On the New Year's day a lot of tourists pay the first visit to Todaiji Temple.
Kofukuji Temple Middle Golden Hall
was reconstructed the hall of the 8th generation. In the hall the principal image, Shaka Nyorai, is seated and Yakuo and Yakujo Bodhisattvas stand as attendant figures.
Omikuji
Most Japanese draw sacred lots called "omikuji" to learn their fortune for the new year. My number was 24, which was unfortunately "No Luck." Fortune is written in English, so foreigners can draw omikuji to read it.
