Four Regular Exhibits in the Museum

blog image

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum reopened On April 29 2017.  Now the east building consists of four regular exhibits such as Introductory Exhibit, the dangers of Nuclear weapons, Hiroshima history, and the Outline of Atomic Bomb Damage. I took guests to the museum twice after it reopened.

The Best Place to Know the Threat of Atomic Bomb

Compared to before, the most different point is that individulal operates the touch panel to search for what you want to know.  I took 4 guests from Singapore to the Peace Memorial Park including the Museum on June 11.  The guests keenly watched and read the exhibits.  Parents told me this was the best place to know the threat of Atomic Bomb for children.
Of course Hiroshima's deepest wish is the elimination of all nuclear weapons and the realization of a genuinely peaceful international community.

Hiroshima has 2 World Heritage sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima. Hiroshima is now internationally known as the first city destroyed by the atomic bomb ever used in human warfare. Within the Peace memorial Park at the epicenter of the explosion, you can find war memorial museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome. The shrine is also a brilliant vermilion hall and it creates a sharp contrast against the wooded hills in the background and the blue sky above.
