Kamakura kimono experience and hidden temple tour with lunch
Escape the city, just one hour from Tokyo, nestled in the mountains of Kamakura. Explore the culture and history of zen Buddhism at two beautiful temples while wearing traditional kimono. Lead by a licensed kimono teacher enjoy the zen gardens in these off the beaten path temples, try matcha and traditional sweats on temple grounds, and after have kaiseki lunch at a local restaurant know for serving monks fair.

Meeting Point
Kamakura station
- Just outside the ticket gates of Kamakura stations east exit. Just find the tall woman in kimono

Here I will guide you in choosing the kimono styling and color best suited for you.
The path to enlightenment -Engakuji
After we have put on kimono we will head to kita kamakura where our first zen temple waits. Only three minutes from Kamakura nestled in the mountains and mainly visited by locals. On the temple ground we can try matcha and traditional sweets. Enjoy nature, rich history, the zen garden, and see a 700 year old buddha.
Kaiseki lunch
Kita Kamakura is quiet and small but luxurious. After Engakuji it is time to enjoy a seasonal kaiseki lunch
The brilliant moon-Meigetsuin
After lunch it's a short, picturesque stroll down a quant road with a rocky and mossy river heading to Meigetsuin. Meigetsuin in is know as the brilliant moon temple or the hydrangea temple. The garden is expansive, includes a dry zen garden, and a bamboo forest. If we are lucky we can see the famous circle window.
Komachi shopping street
After Meigetsuin it's time to head back to the kimono shop, on the way we can stroll down the Kamakura city center shopping street for many hand crafted souvenirs
