Discover Kobe’s Nada sake district on a private four-hour walk through three contrasting breweries. Step inside Hakutsuru’s former wooden brewhouse, explore cedar-barrel craft and kimoto culture at Kiku-Masamune, and compare traditional methods with Hamafukutsuru’s glass-walled modern brewery. Brewery-provided samples may be available. If you wish, finish with an optional visit to a local sake shop, where any drinks, snacks, or purchases are paid directly by each guest.

09:30 AM

Meeting Point

Hanshin Sumiyoshi Station

- Meet outside the ticket gates at Hanshin Sumiyoshi Station. Please note that this is the Hanshin Railway station, not JR Sumiyoshi Station. The tour ends at Hanshin Uozaki Station. I will send the exact meeting details after your booking is confirmed.

09:40 AM

Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum

Step inside a former wooden brewhouse and follow the traditional sake-making process through life-size displays and preserved tools. Rather than reading every panel, we will focus on a few key stages and use this visit to establish how sake was made in the past. A brewery-provided sample may be available; tasting service is determined by the facility on the day.

10:30 AM

Kiku-Masamune & Cedar Barrel Craft

Explore Nada’s dry sake and kimoto culture, then focus on the craft of Yoshino cedar sake barrels. When the 10:30 workshop visit is available, see how barrels are assembled without nails or adhesive. Workshop admission requires advance reservation and is subject to facility availability; production activity is not guaranteed, and video may be used instead. Brewery samples are controlled by the facility.

11:40 AM

Hamafukutsuru Ginjo Kobo: Modern Brewing

Move from traditional methods to the present day at this glass-walled working brewery. Observe the equipment, listen for fermentation, and notice the aroma around the moromi area while comparing what you saw earlier with modern production. The actual work visible varies by season, day, and time. A facility-provided tasting may be available; optional paid tastings and purchases are at the guest’s own expense.

12:30 PM

Optional Local Sake Shop & Recommendations

After exploring the three breweries, you may choose to stop at a local sake shop near Uozaki. Use your tasting notes to describe your preference—light or rich, aromatic or restrained, sweeter or drier—and receive help selecting a bottle or serving. This stop is optional. Any sake, non-alcoholic drinks, food, or purchases are paid directly by each guest. If you prefer not to visit the shop, the tour will finish at Hanshin Uozaki Station.
