Join us for an unforgettable Sendai foodie adventure and discover the authentic flavors of our city, from fresh Sushi, sizzling gyutan and savory sasa-kamaboko to sweet zunda mochi and everything in between!
Since all of the site is located near Sendai station area, we will take a walk to discover them. The walking toward next stop will help you digestion, so don't worry about eating too much!!

Sendai Morning Market
Our first stop is a vibrant local market, brimming with this morning's fresh catch! Here, you can pick out a whole fish or perfectly cut slices. What's more, several stalls offer on-the-spot cooking, preparing your chosen fish or scallops right before your eyes. Don't miss the small counter where you can order delicious, fresh sushi made just for you!
Sasa-Kamaboko
Sasa-Kamaboko, it's a delicious and healthy fish cake, unique to Sendai, known for its distinctive bamboo leaf shape and pleasant texture. We will stop by at the most famous shop inside the main arcade, but we can also try mom-and-pop shop if you would like.
Mochi
A must-try at this historic shop are their three signature mochi varieties: Zunda (sweet mashed edamame paste), Goma (rich black sesame), and Kurumi (savory walnut). Established in 1877, this beloved establishment maintains its original taste.

Born in Taipei and having spent my formative years in Tokyo and pursuing a master's degree in California, my international background has given me a deep appreciation for diverse cultures. After living in Malaysia with my family for seven years, we settled in Sendai in 2024. During the time in Malaysia, I traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia.
