Nikka Whisky Miyagikyo Distillery
"Amber liquid gold born from the mist." > Masataka Taketsuru, the 'Father of Japanese Whisky,' chose this misty valley for its pure water and humidity—perfect for creating a delicate, floral malt. The red-brick storehouses nestled among the greenery are a sight to behold, designed to exist in perfect harmony with the surrounding forest.
From 10:00-11:10, we will have guided Distillery tour. Enjoy a tasting session after the tour.

Akiu Great Falls (Akiu Otaki)

Akiu Traditional Craft Village (Kokeshi Shop)
"Handcrafted warmth, centuries in the making." > Meet the masters of 'Kokeshi'—Miyagi’s iconic hand-painted wooden dolls. At the Akiu Craft Village, you can see artisans at work, turning raw wood into elegant figures. The 'Sakunami-style' Kokeshi features a slender body and delicate floral patterns. From traditional heirlooms to modern 'kawaii' designs, find a unique companion to take home.
The craftman is interviewed by French newspaper, which brings tourist from French regularly.

After living in Malaysia with my family for seven years, we settled in Sendai in 2024. During the time in Malaysia, I traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia.
