Meeting Point
Infront of the Kyoto Tower
- Near the Kyoto-Station
Arrival in Nara
We will take the Kintetsu Express Train from Kyoto Station to Nara. This train is particularly comfortable and there are very few people on it. You are guaranteed a lovely journey with fantastic views.
Gangoji Temple
Gangoji Temple - It is one of the most significant temples in Nara. People from all over the world visit it. We will find a moment of peace there and have time to pray or meditate. It is also possible to write down wishes that may one day come true. It is an incredibly beautiful temple.
Nanendo Temple
Nanendo Temple - This Temple is an octagon-shaped pagoda which is the largest in Japan. It is a Temple that is definitely worth a visit.
Kōfukuji Temple
This is a Temple complex that houses many national treasures and cultural assets. The teachings of the Buddha are also propagated there within the Hossō school.
Nara Park
At this beautiful and large Park, we will see lots of deer, which we can also feed with "shika senbei". These deer are everywhere in Nara and are a real tourist attraction.
Sanshutei Tea House / Café
We will stop for a break at this wonderful old café. We’ll have an absolutely stunning view of the Isuien Garden whilst enjoying a cup of matcha or a bite to eat. You will feel as though you’ve stepped into another world
Yoshikien Garden
In this enchanting garden, we are sure to find peaceful moments to relax; it is an incredibly beautiful traditional Garden complex with Tea houses.
Isuien Garden and Neiraku Museum
The Isuien Garden is a beautiful Zen garden, you will feel again as though you are in a completely different world. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful garden in Nara. We will also be visiting a museum there where you will see some incredibly beautiful art.
Nandaimon Gate and Tōdai-ji
We will see the largest entrance gate in Japan as well as the largest Buddha statue in the world. It is a very unique experience.
Mount Wakakusa
In this idyllic spot, we have plenty of opportunities to stroke the deer and enjoy the beautiful grassy landscape. It’s a place that’s simply too beautiful for words.
Kasugataisha Shrine
It is one of Japan’s most important Shinto Shrines. It is best known for its thousands of lanterns and its location in Nara Park. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will see lots of deer there and enjoy many relaxing moments there.
Manyou Botanical Garden (Optional)
It is the oldest and most important botanical garden in Japan, home to around 300 plant species.
Arrival at Kyoto Station
I will take my guests back to Kyoto Station.

“Arashiyama abseits der Touristenmassen ”
Nach unserer ersten tollen Tour durch Kyoto war auch unser zweiter Tag mit Robert in Arashiyama ein echtes Highlight unserer Japanreise. Wir sind morgens gestartet und schon die Fahrt nach Arashiyama in einer der letzten alten Straßenbahnen war ein besonderes Erlebnis. Robert hat den ganzen Tag wunderbar entspannt gestaltet und ist immer auf unsere Wünsche und unser Tempo eingegangen. Es gab keinen Zeitdruck und wir konnten die einzelnen Orte ganz in Ruhe genießen. Während unserer Tour haben wir immer wieder kleine Abstecher zu verschiedenen Aussichtsplattformen gemacht und konnten von dort fantastische Blicke auf die Berge, den Fluss und die beeindruckende Landschaft rund um Arashiyama genießen. Ein weiteres Highlight war unsere Pause in einem kleinen, etwas versteckten Teehaus, bevor es weiter zum Bambuswald ging. Ein ganz besonderer und ruhiger Ort, den wir alleine vermutlich nie entdeckt hätten. Gegen Ende der Tour gab es noch einen traumhaften Moosgarten, umgeben von unglaublich viel Bambus. Dort waren praktisch keine anderen Menschen und wir konnten die besondere Atmosphäre ganz in Ruhe genießen. Gerade in Arashiyama, wo viele der bekannten Orte sehr voll sein können, war das etwas ganz Besonderes. Dazu kamen den ganzen Tag über viele interessante Insiderinformationen, kleine Geheimtipps und besondere Stopps. Man merkt einfach, dass Robert die Gegend sehr gut kennt und einem auch Orte zeigt, die man auf eigene Faust wahrscheinlich übersehen würde. Wir würden diese Tour mit Robert uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Wer Arashiyama entspannt, persönlich und auch abseits der typischen Touristenmassen erleben möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Vielen Dank für diesen großartigen Tag – wir würden jederzeit wieder eine Tour mit Robert buchen!

Indigo dyeing experience and Yakushi-ji temple visit
Ai-zome, or indigo dyeing used to be very familiar with ordinary Japanese people, especially in Edo Period(16C to 19C). The beauty of the color is highly valued as "Japan Blue". You will experience at a studio called "Konya", the fine renovation of an old merchant's house in Yamato-koriyama city, a castle town. After that you will visit Yakushiji Temple. .
