Meet
Osaka Castle was build in the 16th century by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, one of the most powerful feudal lords in Japan. Let's go up to the top of the castle tower. You will feel as if you were a shogun by enjoying its magnificent view. Also you will see what Osaka Castle was like at that time by looking at a variety of displays in the castle tower.
The Osaka Museum of Housing and Living is located in cental Osaka, about 20 minutes away from Osaka Castle. This is the best place, not so spacious though, to figure out what the life of the Osaka common people was like during the early-19th to the mid-20th centuries.
Let's stroll through Kuromon Market. I suggest you try Osaka's specialties like Tako-yaki or grilled octopus dumplings, Okonomi-yaki or Japanese style pancake, fresh sea food, and you name it.
Dotombori is also at downtown Osaka, 15 minute walk from Kuromon Market.
Umeda Sky Building is a world-famous building, selected as one of the top 20 buildings around the world by a British publisher, along with the historic buildings of the Parthenon in Athens and the Colosseum in Rome. It is about a 10-minute walk from JR Osaka Station. It is a 40-floor building with two basements with the height of 173m. Let's take an escalator up to the rooftop of Kuchu-Teien, the Floating Garden Observatory, commanding a panoramic view of Osaka.

If you're looking for a tour guide then look no further! My husband and I had the pleasure of having Shogo as our guide for 2 days. We have booked other guides on Triplelights in the past, and Shogo is one of the best: he's easy going, flexible, and knowledgeable. We highly recommend and would definitely book him again! Thank you Shogo for the photos, and also for going above and beyond on our Kyoto tour. We had a lot of fun, and hoping to see you again in the near future.
Dear Tami, Thank you for your rave review of our tours for two days. You and your husband were so friendly and lovely a couple to me, looking very much like on your "Honeymoon," that I felt as if I were much younger in my thirties with my old close friends. Actually I found tour guiding real rewarding. Thank you Tami for giving me pleasant days. Best regards, Shogo
We found Shogo to be very knowledgeable, friendly and he made our day trip special. My son especially enjoyed the Sushi, Deer in Narra and the monkeys in Kyoto.
Dear Patrick, I am so much grateful to your nice review of our Kyoto & Nara 1-day-tour. It's always my great pleasure to guide such a nice family trying to explore things Japanese to the fullest. I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed the sushi at Arashiyama, Kyoto. Maybe you found some differences between Japan's sushi and Kiwi sushi, because fish for the sushi might be a little different. Since all of your family are sport lovers, I sincerely hope you'll visit Japan again. See you, Patrick. Best regards, Shogo
Shogo was our guide for 2 days. He is very good company and his knowledge about all of the sites was interesting. On the trip around Kyoto he took us on local transport including the tram which was a great way to travel around the city. Overall we recommend Shogo as the perfect English speaking guide.
