Visiting World Heritage
Nijojo Castle was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, 1st shogun in the Tokugawa shogunate government, in 1603 as his residence in Kyoto. The last shogun, Tokugawa Yoshinobu, announced the return of government power to the emperor here in 1867.
Visiting World Heritage
Kinkakuji Temple, built in 1397, is world famous for its gold foiled straucture on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Kinkakuji Temple and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest are both located in the western part of Kyoto.
Arashiyama, located in the south-western part of Kyoto, is the time-honored beautiful place where you will feel the atmosphere of the Heian Perion aristocrats from the 8th to 12th centuries. You will surely feel the elegance and grace of the ancient nobility.
Exploring "Kyoto's Kitchen"
Nishiki Food Market, narrow arcade in Kyoto's central part, is so-called "Kyoto's Kitchen" with a bunch of local foods. There are some eat-in corners, so you can try anything you like. 100%!

Lucky us! We had a wonderful tour with Shogo. We visited all the “must see” sights as well as the quieter sights and less visited treasures in Kyoto. Shogo has a depth of knowledge and a true interest in providing an authentic experience. It was a great day we will always remember. Much thanks Shogo.
Dear Suzanne, Thank you very much for your super wonderful review. I'm very glad to know that you enjoyed exploring inner reaches of historical Kyoto and daily lives of everyday Kyoto people as well. Japanese apricot blossoms just came out, and we had lighting with gusty wind before dawn, this morning. So absolutely I think we were lucky.:) Many thanks to you, Suzanne. From Shogo.
many thanks Shogo for your fatastic guided tour in Osaka. We thoroughly enjoyed your company.
Dear Somila, I am so much grateful to your wonderful review. You are so nice a family. Also it's amazing that your family are so intrested in Japanese culture and tried exploring things Japanese, like mochi pounding to the fullest. I do hope you enjoyed staying in Japan. Thanks for everything, Somila. Best regards, Shogo
If you're looking for a tour guide then look no further! My husband and I had the pleasure of having Shogo as our guide for 2 days. We have booked other guides on Triplelights in the past, and Shogo is one of the best: he's easy going, flexible, and knowledgeable. We highly recommend and would definitely book him again! Thank you Shogo for the photos, and also for going above and beyond on our Kyoto tour. We had a lot of fun, and hoping to see you again in the near future.
Dear Tami, Thank you for your rave review of our tours for two days. You and your husband were so friendly and lovely a couple to me, looking very much like on your "Honeymoon," that I felt as if I were much younger in my thirties with my old close friends. Actually I found tour guiding real rewarding. Thank you Tami for giving me pleasant days. Best regards, Shogo
We found Shogo to be very knowledgeable, friendly and he made our day trip special. My son especially enjoyed the Sushi, Deer in Narra and the monkeys in Kyoto.
Dear Patrick, I am so much grateful to your nice review of our Kyoto & Nara 1-day-tour. It's always my great pleasure to guide such a nice family trying to explore things Japanese to the fullest. I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed the sushi at Arashiyama, Kyoto. Maybe you found some differences between Japan's sushi and Kiwi sushi, because fish for the sushi might be a little different. Since all of your family are sport lovers, I sincerely hope you'll visit Japan again. See you, Patrick. Best regards, Shogo
