Osaka Castle

It is the symbol of Osaka, originally constructed by the great warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the Sengoku samurai era. Destroyed and rebuilt many times, today’s tower was completed in 1931. Inside is a history museum. From the top observation floor, you can overlook the whole city.

Yasaka Shrine

Namba Yasaka Shrine is one of Osaka’s most photogenic shrines. Its highlight is the enormous 12‑meter‑tall lion‑head stage. It is said the lion’s big mouth devours misfortune and evil, bringing visitors good luck. You can also draw omikuji fortune slips here.

Dotonbori is Osaka’s most lively gourmet and entertainment quarter alongside the canal. Don’t miss the famous Glico runner sign and giant crab landmark. Here you can try classic Osaka food: takoyaki octopus balls, okonomiyaki savory pancake and kushikatsu skewers.
