Minoh is a 30 minutes train ride from the center of Osaka. However, it is a suburban area full of nature, a famous spot for autumn foliage.

Let's hike through the national park, starting from Katsuoji Temple—famous for its Daruma dolls—and making our way to a magnificent waterfall ranked among Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls.

Meeting Point

Minoh-kayano Station

- Minoh-kayano station is the northan terminal of the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway. You can access this station directly by taking the Midosuji Subway Line from Umeda or Namba. It takes about 30 minutes from Umeda Station.

11:00 AM

Katsuo-ji Temple

Katsuo-ji, this vast temple is famous for its lucky Daruma Dolls. Countless Daruma Dolles line the offering shelves. It's also fun and humorous to place a mini Daruma Doll anywhere you like in the temple. If you have a wish, white it on a Daruma doll.

Magnificent Nishikigoi are swiming in the pond of the beautiful Japanese garden.

Let's take photos in front of the Daruma dolls that are going viral social media.

01:00 PM

Minoh Falls

From Katsuo-ji Temple, you will walk approximately 4kms through the nature-rich national park to Minoh Falls.

This is one of Osaka prefecture's most famous waterfalls.

Occasionally, you might even spot wild monkeys here.

The Minoh River flows parallel to the road, and if you spot a giant salamander, a natural monument, on the riverbed, you will be very lucky!

01:20 PM

Minoh Onsen

From Minoh Falls, it is another 30 minutes walk to Hankyu Minoo Station.

There is also Minoh Onsen, which is currently undergoing renovations, but the hot springs and inn will reopen in October.

As you get closer to the station, you'll find a row of souvenir shops and restaurants. A famous snack there is, tempura made using maple leaves from the mountains.
