Takaoka Great Buddha
The Buddha was made by craftsmen in Takaoka city, Toyama.
It is located in the central part of the town. The locals can come there any time because it is the the open-air facility. Let's see the huge Buddha!
Kanayamachi old town
Kanayamachi old town is said that it is the birth place of Takaoka copperware, which is the traditional crafts. The copperware is made by casting originally. There are still many traditional style buildings.
Let's appreciate the atmosphere of the old town there!
Mt. Futagami, A huge bell "Peace bell"
Mt. Futagami is a local mountain which is 274m high. It is familiar with locals because people can hike and run in the mountain area.
You can look down the town scenery from some points.
Also, there are some spots to see like the statue of goddess of mercy and the huge bell.

“Tateyama Alpine Route”

Mt. Futagami is located at the west of Toyama area. It is a 274m high mountain. There is abundant nature in the mountain. It is familiar with locals. People from the region often walk, run, and hike around the mountain for having their relaxing time. Also, there are some attractive sites like a huge statue of goddess of mercy, observatory which can look over the scenery of the town and the sea, and a huge bell.

Takaoka local Takoyaki making
Takoyaki is one of typical Japanese cuisines, which are small fried balls made from flour. We will make small fried balls with Takoyaki machine and put octopus into them normally. In the tour, guests can make Takoyaki being instructed by a guide. Before making them, we will go to a grocery shop with a guide and choose what guests like to put into Takoyaki. When it is ready, the guide show you how to make Takoyaki, then try to make them by yourselves!

Takaoka Yamacho district & Kanayamachi old town
Takaoka city was made 400 years ago. Kanayamachi town is known as the birthplace of Takaoka copperware, which is one of traditional crafts in Toyama. Yamacho district is the general term of which consists of 10 towns. Yamachosuji street is one of streets of Yamacho district. Guests can appreciate the atmosphere of the town with traditional houses.
