Premiere Tour of Akita. In this tour, you can see how samurai lived in samurai residences. At one Samurai house, a staff member tells us about the residence. You can witness samurai swords, armor, kimonos, etc. You can take a nice photo wearing a samurai helmet. Lake Tazawa is a mysterious Lake and the deepest one in Japan. The golden statue of Tatsuko is a must-see spot in Akita. Please take memorial photos at the shore of Lake Tazawa. We enjoy lunch at Kakunodate town or near Lake Tazawa.

Toru is a wonderful guide. He was our guide in and around Akita. He is very professional. Every step of our tour ran very smoothly. The timing was good with enough time to see the sights and still get to the next destination. And if you are wondering his English is very good. “Excellent guide- must use for any visiting Akita ”
We primarily wanted to visit Akita for the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There is almost zero public transportation to the shrine and English speakers are very rare in this part of Japan. This is where Toru provided top value! He was able to drive us to the shrine, as well as show other activities in Akita including a museum, festival, and views of the park. He even took us to a local coffee house. He also helped us book train tickets on the return trip to Tokyo! In all, we hope to visit Akita again and will definitely be using Toru’s services when we return!
