Chizuru F.
Hello, my name is Chizuru. I'm from Kagawa, Shikoku Island. I went to primary school in London and in my 20s, I travelled around the world as a backpacker. After becoming a mother, I settled in Kagawa. Over time, I became deeply fascinated by Japanese culture, particularly kimono and Japanese sake. This led me to open a kimono rental shop in one of Japan's most beautiful gardens. I find great joy in meeting tourists and dressing them in kimono. I also began offering Japanese sake bar-hopping tours, which I mostly enjoy because they allow me to have fun with tourists and share my passion for Japanese culture. Kagawa is home to many beautiful islands, and I would love to take you to these stunning places too, where you can experience art, meet the local people, and enjoy local food. There are so many things to do, and I am happy to arrange any activities you desire in Kagawa.

Hi! Thanks for reviewing my profile. I am Australian, from Sydney originally but my life with Japan and its culture and history spans 30 odd years and I have been a Hiroshima resident for 18 of those 30 years. I joined GoWithGuide just recently but be assured I have led many tours in Hiroshima and more widely throughout metropolitan and regional Japan, sharing conversations about the unique society, its fascinating culture and history. I also have written several tourism blogs for inbound tour companies and also the Hiroshima Prefectural Tourism Bureau. I speak fluent Japanese and I have immersed myself in the experience of living here in modern and traditional culture and spent many years studying martial arts Aikido and Iaido. I also have a strong interest in Buddhist teachings. My Japanese calligraphy work over the years has been received recognition and several awards and commissions both in Japan and elsewhere. I'm looking forward to spending a great experience sharing the culture and history of Hiroshima with you.

My name is Mika, a local guide living in Takamatsu city. I have been an English teacher, but the Setouchi International Art Festival awakened me to the joy of guiding. The more I learn about the Seto Inland Sea region, the more I am impressed by its life, history, architecture and art works. So, I would like to show you the spectacular scenery that you may have missed in guidebooks alone, and the sights that have yet to be introduced in guidebooks. In Kagawa Prefecture, island tours are also very popular, such as Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima, which are sacred places for contemporary art, and I think you can better understand the connection between the history of the islands and art by touring with a guide. Of course, I would also like to introduce fresh harvest from the Seto Inland Sea, delicious local food, and shopping for folk crafts in the Takamatsu shopping arcade, which will satisfy you fully as a highlight of your journey.

I am Mayumi, SETOUCHI lover and a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter for English-speaking guests. I left busy Tokyo where I had lived for many years and moved to this calm city Okayama recently in order to change my way of living in my mid fifties. Before settling down here I spent some months like a traveler and found much comfort and amenity of this region. I came to wish to share such value with others. That is why I started a second job as a private tour guide. Honestly speaking, I am not experienced guide, yet I would like to make every effort to satisfy your requests and make your stay happier. Okayama is one of the most attractive cities in Western Japan. It is known for Kouraku-en which is one of the three most scenic landscape gardens in Japan. Okayama has a mild climate and is famous for fruit production such as white peach and grapes. You must love them. Also the location of Okayama is wonderful, it faces the Seto Inland Sea.You can enjoy idyllic scenery and a lot of outdoor activities are possible. If you are interested in slow life or inner peace,it is your destination. I would like to offer you very special opportunities to deepen your experience in Western Japan. Please visit Okayama and let me guide you. ◆My guidable area : SETOUCHI-islands, Setouchi Art Trienale 2019, Benesse Art Site, Okayama and Kagawa ◆Personal life : I am a working mother. I am fond of walks, cycling, skiing and traveling. At home, I enjoy cooking and gardening.

“Day trip to Naoshima”
Mayumi was amazing. Very knowledgeable with lots of insight and historical information. She was kind enough to meet me in Okayama and made getting to Naoshima so pleasant. We spent the day exploring museums and houses. Absolutely delightful and I highly recommend her!

Hello Susan, Thank you very much for evaluating my guiding and recommending me. It was a pleasure to tour with you. Thank you sincerely. Even though this was your first visit to Japan, you already had a great deal of knowledge about the country, and you showed such deep curiosity at every place we visited—especially from the perspective of an architectural expert. That brought new insights to me as well. I learned a lot from exploring Naoshima together with you, and it has inspired me to keep improving my guiding. Thank you also for deepening your understanding of Japan by exploring such an impressive number of places on your very first trip here. And thank you for taking the time to come all the way to remote Naoshima. I imagine you are now on your way to Kyoto. Wishing you safe travels. Warmest regards, Mayumi

“Great photo spots and a lot of explanations”
Chizuru waited for us and took us to the kimono dressing room. She had a nice selection of patterns and colors that even made my wife happy :D Then we walked through the park, and she showed us great places to take photos at, and she also explained the history of many buildings, trees, and other objects in the garden. Also about Japan in general. It was a joy, and I can recommend this tour to everyone! It's also not crowded at all, unlike in Kyoto. Thanks a lot!

Thank you so much for your kind and detailed review! I was delighted to be your guide. My main goal is to show visitors not only the most picturesque spots for photos but also to share the fascinating background of the garden and Japan, so your comment about the explanations is very rewarding to read. Thank you once again for choosing this Kimono tour and for your recommendation! It was truly a joy for me as well. Chizuru
