At first,  you can enjoy experiencing of making folding fan.  It's so interesting because a shop owner, a master of making folding fan teaches you how to make fan so politely.  Of course, you can take it to your country as a good souvenir!  Then, you visit Nagoya Castle and Tokugawaen Garden.  The castle has a magnificent main palace, so you can see amazing Japanese craftsmanship there.  Ninja, or Japanese old cool spy and famous samurai, such as Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu walk around the castle, so you can take pictures with them and talk to them in English.  Surprising to say, they all can speak English so fluently.  You also enjoy Tokugawaen Garden.  It was used as a real garden for retired second Owari(old name for Nagoya) feudal domain castle lord. I think it would be a good idea to have lunch  at a Japanese restaurant adjacent to the garden or the castle.  In Sakae, you can see TV tower and unique modern monument, we call it "Aqua-Walk". Day trip from Nagoya to Matsusaka by local train

Takayama is situated in a narrow and flat land surrounded by high mountains. Now it has become a hometown of many Japanese people since the access by rail and road has been improved so much.  Developed after a Kyoto-style town-planning scheme under the administration of Lord Takayama in 1600s, the town is divided into three areas such as Samurai houses, Buddhist Temples and merchants' quarters.
I would like to take you to Takayama Jinya, Kami-sannomachi avenue, and Yatai Floats Museum.
  
Takayama Jinya was the Edo Government office complex of Takayama district from 1692 to the Meiji Restoration in 1868.  It served as the administration of office and court.   Takayama Jinya is the only remaining jinya though there were almost 60 government offices at the end of Edo Period.

Kami-sannomachi avenue is a narrow road lined with wooden houses with low hanging eaves and lattice windows as in the Edo days.  You can drop in at handicraft shops, enjoy sake-tasting and Hida beef for lunch.

Takayama is famous for the colorful Takayama Festival in spring and autumn with highly decorated floats being pulled out in the streets.  Japanese associate Takayama Festival with Gion Festival held in Kyoto.  Yatai Floats Museum exhibits floats and palanquines all year around.

From Kyoto, it takes nearly 3 hours, so I would like to give you the Takayama guide for 6 hours from 11:00 A.M. to 5 oclock P.M.
