Quiet one day trip of Kurashiki Bikan historical area
Kurashiki was a center of trades in Edo Period. And some warehouses and many houses in those days are left here now . When you walk along the stream , you will feel that you travel into the town in Edo Period. You can ride a small boat rowed with paddles along the stream , and you can also ride the rickshaw. You can visit old merchant's house, Ohara Museum , and Kurashiki Folkcraft Museum.
Kurashiki Bikan historical area and Korakuen Park and Okayama Castle in Okayama
We visit Kurashiki Bikan historical area and walk along the stream with willows beside it. You see old houses and rice warehouses. Now they are used as a museum or shops. After that we visit Korakuen Park. It was one of three most famous parks in Japan. It was created for Tsunamasa Ikeda , the lord of Okayama Han in Edo Period. We also visit Okayama Castle.
Tour of Okayama rich in history
We stroll in Okayama visiting Okayama castle and Korakuen garden designated as one of three famous gardens in Japan in the morning. We move to Kurashiki near Okayama. We do sightseeing Kurashiki historical quarter rich in old Japanese style houses and visit either Ohara museum of art or Sake brewery there where Japanese alcohol is made.

There are 727 islands in the Seto Inland Sea, out of them 87 islands belong to Okayama pref. and 112 belong to Kagawa pref. Responding to your special interests (contemporary art, cats, cycling, mountain trekking, flower watching, fishing village,etc...), also considering the season, I recommend one island for you to visit and make a plan for a day. We discuss the details via email in advance.
Kurashiki Bikan historical area and Seto Inland Sea and Seto Ohashi Bridge from Washuzan Hill
First we will go to Kurashiki Bikan historical area. We will walk along the stream called Kurashiki River. We will see big and old merchants' houses and old warehouses. We will watch and buy Japanese folkcraft there. We will go to Ivy Square and eat lunch. After that we will go to Washuzan in Kojima by bus and taxi. We will see many small islands and Seto Ohashi Bridge in Seto Inland Sea.
Traditional Bizen ware and Kurashiki Bikan historical area
Bizen ware is one of six most popular potteries in Japan. Superior clay is used and put in the tunnel kiln unglazed and fired with pine wood at 1250°C for 20 days . It acquires various subdued colors. You visit the potteries and learn the process of Bizen ware. You can make your own china with the help of the potter. You also visit Kurashiki Bikan historical area.

Naoshima Art Island Excursion Day Tour
This is a wonderful day exploring the art on Naoshima, one of three islands creating a contemporary art experience set amidst the rice fields and mountains on the island and merging with the rural setting in the surrounding Seto Inland Sea. It features architecture by Tadao Ando. We will ferry from Uno Port to Naoshima and travel by local bus, or if you would like, hire bicycles and cycle around to visit the Chichu Art Museum and other art project installations in the town.

Quiet one day trip of Kurashiki Bikan historical area
“Beautiful and relaxed day in.Kurashiki”
We ( my husband, our 19 year old son and I) spent a wonderful day with Yoko in Kurashiki. We met Yoko at Okayama Station and then took the train to Kurashiki. We vistited a doll exhibition, took a gondola ride and Yoko arranged a lunch in an excellent restaurant. It was a relaxed and beautiful day. Thanks Yoko

“Informative and Relaxing Day Trip”
My day trip hosted by Yoko-san was very enjoyable. If you're looking for an unhurried, relaxed pace, this tour is for you. Yoko-san met me at my hotel and at the end of the tour, rode the train with me back to my station. The itinerary was flexible and special reservations were made in advance for an excellent lunch. Keiji set up a very specialized tour that my request that included Okayama Castle, a country lunch, a driving tour that provided breathtaking views of the Great Seto Bridge and Inland Sea, a stop at an ancient battle site, and the Kurashiki historical quarter.
