In Japan, each local has its own Japanese Sake. The sake in Kurashiki is not widely known outside this area but very tasty thanks to its wonderful nature, good rice and water. Why don’t you explore these wonderful hidden Sake. After meeting we will walk to local place where you can try several local Japanese sake and appetizers. After that we will walk a little to explore evening view of this charming local city.

Meeting Point
Kurashiki Station or at your accommodation in Kurashiki
- We will meet at JR Kurashiki station or I will pick you up at your accommodation in Kurashiki.
Local Japanese izakaya.
We will visit local Japanese Izakaya which features local Japanese Sake as well as Sake from other parts of Japan.
We will try three different local Japanese Sake by glass. Two small appetizer good for sake will be served also.
Evening town strolling
We will stroll around to explore evening view of the town.

Your accommodation in Kurashiki or another place at your request.

If you have anything you can’t eat, please inform me in advance. Because this tour includes only three glasses of Sake and two small appetizers, you can order other foods or more drinks or foods on your own expenses.
Because this is a walking tour, the transportation expense is not necessary. If you use a taxi or other transportation to come to the meeting place or to go back to your accommodation, it is your own expenses.

“History and Udon Noodles in Kurashiki”
Mack met me at Kurashiki Station for the start of our tour. We walked through the shopping street, and I was fascinated by the shops but decided to visit them on the return leg. Kurashiki is wonderful, so well preserved with the historical house and warehouses. We also walked along old, cobbled street in the quieter areas, away from the canal area which was quite busy with tourists. Mack explained the history of Kurashiki and the family that made it successful textile manufacturing centre. But not only that, it was an early model of social enterprise, hiring women and providing them with education opportunities. We stopped at a couple of shops along the way back to the station, with Mack obliging me with a visit to a Bizan ware shop and a local snack shop selling freshly made red bean pancakes. We then proceeded to the udon shop for Bukkake Udon which is a local speciality. Mack is a wonderful guide, full of knowledge about Kurashiki. He tailored my tour to suit my interests, and we had a great time chatting about many different subjects.
