About Tour Guide Masatoshi M.
I had worked for the Japan's biggest travel agency JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) for 35 years as a tour escort for Japanese.
I visited 68 countries and of course all over Japan as well. So I’m familiar with almost all of the tourist attractions in Japan.
More over I’m also a professional magician now. I’m a member magician of The Magic Castle in Hollywood in US. That's why I made a decision to become an English tour guide.
I acquired a tour guide license issued by the Japanese government with a lot of hard work in 2016 and I started from the following year.
I work as an English guide approximately 130 days a year.
My wife is physically disabled, and I usually care for her.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I receive home care and bathing services, so I am unable to go out during the day as I have to prepare for and clean up afterwards.
I am available to guide on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I can take up to four people sightseeing in my private car.
I am available at any time during evening tours, such as YATAI tours.

“Amazing Introduction to Yatai and Fukuoka”
We came out of the tour not only well-fed after sampling some Fukuoka specialties, but also with a better understanding of local history and Japanese culture thanks to Morry, who was a perfect guide. He picked stalls that gave us a variety of options while he kept us thoroughly entertained with his conversation and a bit of impressive magic. The 2.5 hours flew by because it felt more like having a good extended meal with a friend than being taken on a tour. Thanks to Morry, we were able to enjoy conversations with other customers and communicate with the yatai owners. Morry made sure to provide us with interesting background information about yatai, specific dishes, the area, and Japanese culture in general, but always in the course of conversation rather than as a canned lecture. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the tour and would welcome the chance to hang out with Morry again. Logistically, his communication was clear and consistent from the moment we booked the tour. We received messages about the proposed itinerary, meeting possibilities, directions, and even suggestions about other things we could do during our stay. In the morning, we will go down the Yanagawa River, and in the afternoon we will visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I will guide you using my own car. Yanagawa: going down the river in Yanagawa is a moat tour. It makes seven turns and seven circuits before descending. Dazaifu Tenmangu is a shrine built over the grave of Michizane Sugawara venerated by the Japanese throughout the country as the Tenman-Tenjin(the deified sprit of Michizane), or the God of literature or calligraphy.
