We will walk through old Fukoka town visting the temple housing Fukuoka Daibutsu, a towering 10.8-meter wooden seated Great Buddha statue, and the striking red five-story pagoda.

Hakata Machiya Folk Museum

a beautifully restored traditional merchant house from the Meiji and Taisho era will offer us a glimpse into the daily life of in Fukuoka some 120 years ago

Fukuoka Castle ruins

Only impressive walls and turrets remain of what once was the biggest castle on Kyushu. This fortress can teach us alot about Japanese history and especially history of Kyushu

Stroll in a unique park with its massive pond close to the castle.

Later we will also take a short rest in a quiet Japanese garden.
