Hakata old town is home to many temples and shrines where you can feel about Fukuoka’s history and culture.
This tour is suitable if you’d like to visit must see places efficiently with the information of what is the history and traditions behind. So take it easy! I will be your map and guide!

Sennen no mon

Hakata Furusato Kan(folk museum)
It’s a small museum but this buildings introduce the lifestyle and culture in the past ages.
Kushida shrine
This shrine has a longest history as a village shrine in Fukuoka.
Kawabata shopping arcade
You can find decorative festival float here as well as souvenir shops and traditional stores.
Sumiyoshi shrine
Reddish colored gates look beautiful here.

Rakusuien(Japanese Garden) -Every Tuesday is closed except public holiday. When a public holiday falls on Tuesday then the next day is closed.
This tour involves a lot of walking, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.

About Tour Guide Kazue I.
Hi! I am Kazue. I am from Fukuoka and live in the central city.
I spent almost 20 years traveling around the world as a cabin attendant. Meeting different people, different cultures and eating local food were best things in my career.
This experience definitely widened my perspective and will help me in some way when I work as a guide.
Since I spent half my life outside of Japan, I noticed our culture and traditions are very unique and became more interested in historical sites in Japan.
For my personal life, I am a mom of twins. It is still a hard work but I am enjoying a lot with them. We take them around Kyushu whenever possible for their fun and experience.
We all love traveling after all.
I am looking forward to showing you around our hometown soon!

“Great experience”
We had an excellent time with Kazue! We changed the itinerary on her many times and she was always happy to accommodate us. She explained the history and the Buddhist ways so we could better understand what we were seeing. Kazue is a wonderful guide with great English skills. “Memorable experience”
Great tour...unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating but that didn't deter Ms Kazue from taking us to hidden gems where locals go. The rain was actually a plus because we didn't have to wait long to get seated. One yatai we went to was known for their gyoza, delicious. Another has been in business for over 30 years.
