Kagoshima is blessed with many volcanoes, a mild climate and a lot of rain.
People have survived on barren volcanic ash plateaus.
Currently, the agricultural production is the highest in Japan and marine resources are also abundant.
Relatively close ancestors started the industrial revolution along with the social revolution for modernization in Japan.
Western countries hailed this as an oriental miracle.
Please enjoy the trip to find many of Kagoshima's secret keys.

Hello, I am a retired captain of a commuter airline, with over 40 years of experience and over 22,400 flight hours focused on providing safe and comfortable travel. I have had the opportunity to visit various countries, including Japan, the United States, China, Taiwan, South Korea, and the Philippines.
After retiring, I worked as a volunteer guide for city walks in Kagoshima for eight years and obtained my certification as a certified guide for the World Heritage Sites in Kagoshima Prefecture. The joy of traveling overseas is getting to know different cultures, languages, and the unique lifestyles and food cultures of the people. However, what is most valuable to me are the memories made meeting people during travels.
During my career, I focused on safely and comfortably transporting passengers. Today, I aim to continue a job that brings travelers fun and memorable experiences. I am committed to being a reliable guide for everyone and providing memorable trips.

“Kagoshima Volcano”
Moriaki was punctual and very accommodating. Getting off Celebrity Millenium took an extra hour because of Japanese customs inspection for all passengers since our ship spent a day in S Korea. We took the ferry with the car that Moriaki rented for 4 guests. The ferry was easy and we drove to volcano viewing area. Very cool thing to see. Later on, spent time at garden area and watched volcano spew large volume of smoke. Moriaki’s English was ok and he knows his city well. Thx Moriaki. 5 stars

Thank you for your kind review. I will try to improve my passable English even a little. And I would like to further convey the charm of Kagoshima. I think you were very lucky to be able to see the smoke rising from Sakurajima at Sengan-en. If you have the opportunity, I hope you will come back to Kagoshima and explore even more of its charm. Thank you very much.

“Great Experience but hard to understand”
We went to Chiran and Senganen. Both are worth seeing. Our guide was super nice and accommodating, but hard to understand. He doesn’t have a very loud voice, so almost impossible to understand while driving in car. At sites, it was better but still hard. He was very knowledgeable of cultural site st Senganen garden and we especially enjoyed learning more about industrial part of history. We also really enjoyed seeing the glass blowing factory at the garden. Not part of official tour, but it was really interesting. Moriaki is a nice and personable guide that really tries to please you.

Thank you very much for your kind review. I regret that my voice was difficult to hear inside the car. From now on, I will speak louder and more clearly. The World Heritage Site of Sengan-en is the main theme of my guide license, so I am glad that you enjoyed it. Thank you for enjoying the tour of the Satsuma Kiriko cut glass factory more than I expected. I felt proud that Japan's industrial revolution, started by Shimazu Nariakira, was not just about cannons and machinery, but also about the creation of beautiful objects. Above all, I am glad that you enjoyed my tour and that you have added another good memory to your life. Thank you very much.
