Kamakura was the first capital of Samurai government in Japan. It is not only a historical city with about 100 shrines and temples but also a city with beautiful nature
surrounded by mountains on two sides and facing the sea to the south. It has a brave culture based on Zen Buddhism. If you are interested in Japanese history and culture and you like nature, this trip will satisfy you.

My name is Yukiko . I have a national license for a tour guide in English. I live in Tokyo on weekdays and go back to my house in Kamakura on weekend. I like both cities.
Tokyo is one of the most exciting cities in the world. Kamakura is a traditional city with history and nature. I like communicating with people.
My family and I had homestay students from all over the world and my children call me "mother of the world." I like learning foreign languages. I speak a little German and I learned a little Italian last year. I also have a license for teaching Japanese to foreigners as a second language. It would be a great pleasure for me to make your trip to Japan more valuable and impressive through my explanation of Japanese culture and history,
I am looking forward to seeing you.

“Nice tour with Yukiko ”
Yukiko came prepared with a timeline during different eras so she could explain the history of Japan as we walked through the beautiful Hamarikyu Gardens. She also brought us to some high rises just to see some magnificent views of Tokyo. We had a nice time with Yukiko learning about the history and culture of Japan.

“Top Tour Guide”
We booked Yukiko as a private guide for two days. She took us to historical sites in Tokyo on one day and spent another day with us in Kamakura, where she showed us various shrines and other attractions. She arranged for us to dine at traditional Japanese restaurants and joined us for the meals. We highly recommend Yukiko and suggest you let her show you around Tokyo. She is very responsive to your individual interests and preferences. Her knowledge of Japanese history and traditions is truly impressive, yet never overwhelming. She makes sure to include breaks and even reminds you to take photos when you're too fascinated to remember. She is a wonderful companion—never intrusive, always attentive, and extremely helpful. All in all, an absolute recommendation!

Dear Dirk, Thank you so much for your nice review! You and your wife Anne happened to visit Japan for the first time, and during the tours you were and became more and more interested in Japan. You were really the best listeners of my explanation on Japanese history and culture. It was my great pleasure that you understood me so well. You have a great insight and we You have such deep insight that we could share even empathy through the poems of Emperor Meiji and Empress Meiji. Although my explanation was held in English we could enjoy conversation even in German. You are such kind people that I enjoyed being with you. It was also my great pleasure that you asked me to guide not only Tokyo but also Kamakura. Kamakura is a good choice. Although you stayed only in Tokyo this time, you could experience both modern and old Japan. I felt happy when you said you felt comfortable in Kamakura and you enjoyed nature in a nice breeze of May in the city of Samurai. Two days with you are my treasure. I hope you will visit Japan some day again. Yukiko
