Meeting Point
Miurakaigan-station
- We will meet at Miurakaigan Station and start the journey of the day! (It is over an hour by train from central Tokyo (via the Keikyu Line), Miura is ideal for a day trip or a short weekend escape from the city bustle.)
Horseback Riding to kick off the day
We will walk together to the farm and start with our main event, which is a 2-hour horseback riding across the local town, beach and farmland.
[Please send me a message first so we can secure the experience on requested day.]
Lunch
After our walk and taking in all the tempting sights and smells of local food, it’s time to sit down and enjoy an authentic Japanese meal featuring fresh seafood (or meat) and seasonal vegetables from Miura.
Miura Hakusan Jinja
After the meal, we’ll take a relaxing walk along the beach to help with digestion and make our way to one of our most beloved local shrines — Miura Hakusan Jinja, which locals traditionally visit at the beginning of the year. We’ll finish our journey with a thankful bow to the local guardian deity.
Optional: Island Trekking or Farmer's markets visits
If you wish, we can move to jogashima island (the largest natural island in Kanagawa Prefecture) for a nice walk and enjoy the ocean breeze (Which is available on my other tour) or we can continue the journey further to Misaki Port area to walk around local farmers', fisherman's markets and try out local gelato, coffee or tea!
Ending Point
Farewell at Miurakaigan station

“Fun Energy & Great Food”
We contacted Carrie with a last minute effort to fill one of our open/unplanned days in Yokohama with more than us strolling around, wondering where some of the fun places Yokohama has to offer. Carrie responded to our initial message quickly and after a brief look at her schedule, she was able to accommodate our tour request. She offered two meeting locations and arrived about 10mins early (we only know that cause we arrived 20mins early, not being 100% sure of our train commuting skills lol). We decided on a day (4 hour) tour of ChinaTown and let me tell you, we could have explored 6-8 hours with Carrie’s guidance. She started off telling us about the gates at the entrance/exits to begin our tour and then it was food option after food option! (Come to ChinaTown hungry, very hungry… like skip dinner the night before kinda hungry). We stopped in to have our birth dates explored and explained our past, present, and futures (which was spot on for the most part! Eek) After sampling some more tasty treats, Carrie took us to two different temples, each having different meaning, which she explained in great detail that we appreciated. Afterwards, we enjoyed a tea set and an array finger foods at a local spot and finished our tour with a 30min foot massage. All in all, we had an amazing day with Carrie. She has a great bubbly and lively vibe, is talkative (but not too much), and willing to share all her favorite spot in ChinaTown. We definitely recommend her as a guide and will be using her in the future when we return to Japan!!

Jogashima – From Tokyo to an island away from tourist crowds
Jogashima is located at the southern tip of Kanagawa, out into the Pacific Ocean. It has been listed as a two-star destination of Michelin Green Guide Japan. It is famous for jagged cliffs and remarkable landscapes. On a clear day, you can see views of Mt. Fuji over Sagami Bay. The place is great all year round with beautiful daffodils in the spring, magnificent pine trees in the summer, a nice ocean breeze and a hike in the autumn, and a perfect time to welcome cormorants back home in winter.

Self-awareness Zen walk “Iza Kamakura — it’s time to go to Kamakura”
This walk, led by a local artist, emphasizes a quiet, meditative, and meaningful experience. It deliberately avoids crowded tourist spots and streets, instead offering a tranquil route through the green hills that gently slope toward the ocean. Along the walk, we will visit four temples — three of which belong to the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism — including one founded by Eisai, the monk who introduced Zen Buddhism and culture of green tea to Japan.
