The TRAVELERS HOUSE ROOFTOP BAR (Sky View Experience)

Head up to the 26th floor and discover a hidden rooftop oasis at The TRAVELERS HOUSE ROOFTOP BAR, located approximately 100 meters above the ground.

From the open-air terrace, enjoy sweeping views of Tokyo’s skyline while relaxing in a unique space inspired by a lush, jungle-like atmosphere.

One of the highlights is the view directly below: the expansive train depot near Oimachi Station, where trains come and go along the Yamanote Line.

Watching the movement of trains from above offers a fascinating glimpse into Tokyo’s everyday life—an experience rarely found in typical sightseeing spots.

As the sun sets, the city lights begin to sparkle, transforming the scene into a dramatic night view. It’s the perfect place to unwind with a drink, enjoy the open sky, and experience Tokyo from a different perspective.

Whether you visit during sunset or in the evening, this rooftop bar offers a memorable and relaxing moment above the bustling city.

Ooi Zao Gongen Shrine

Step into a hidden spiritual spot just a few minutes from Oimachi Station. This small shrine, surrounded by modern buildings, offers a peaceful contrast to the busy city.

Founded in the late Heian period (over 1,000 years ago), the shrine has long been a guardian of the local community. According to legend, a mystical Tengu (long-nosed mountain spirit) protected the area from fires and epidemics during the Edo period.

Today, that legend lives on through the lively “Tengu Festival”, held every April. During this unique event, locals carry a portable shrine featuring a giant Tengu face, accompanied by powerful traditional drum performances.

The shrine also enshrines Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, believed to bring happiness, wealth, and longevity—making it a popular stop for visitors seeking good fortune.

Despite its modest size, this shrine reflects a deep blend of Shinto and Buddhist traditions, and offers insight into how local beliefs and folklore continue to shape everyday life in Tokyo.

Higashi-Koji Yokocho (Local Food Alley Experience)

Step into a narrow alley just outside Oimachi Station and discover one of Tokyo’s most authentic food streets. Higashi-Koji Yokocho is a lively post-war dining alley packed with small eateries, where locals gather to eat, drink, and socialize.

With its maze of tiny lanes and glowing red lanterns, the area offers a nostalgic atmosphere that feels far removed from modern Tokyo. Dozens of compact restaurants line the alley, serving everything from standing bars to ramen and classic Japanese comfort food.

Enjoy a casual “tabe-aruki” (food hopping) experience as we explore a variety of local flavors:

Stop by Niku no Maekawa (肉のまえかわ) for a casual standing-style bite, where you can enjoy freshly prepared deli-style dishes loved by locals—perfect for a quick snack.

Visit Restaurant Bull-Dog (ブルドック), a long-established Western-style “yoshoku” restaurant famous for hearty dishes such as omelet rice and hamburger steak, known for their generous portions and comforting flavors.

Try local ramen at Eiraku (永楽), a classic “machi-chuka” eatery where simple ramen and fried rice reflect everyday Japanese dining culture.

This area is not about fine dining—it’s about experiencing everyday life in Tokyo. Its close-knit atmosphere, friendly interactions, and affordable dishes make it an unforgettable place to discover how locals truly eat and unwind.

Shinagawa Shrine

Shinagawa Shrine is one of the most important and historic shrines in the Shinagawa area. Founded in 1187 by Minamoto no Yoritomo, it has long been associated with prayers for safe sea travel, prosperity, and success. It is also known for enshrining Ebisu, one of Japan’s Seven Lucky Gods, and many locals visit to pray for good fortune and business success.

With its impressive red torii gate, stone steps, and peaceful atmosphere, the shrine offers a deeper look into local history and traditional Japanese spirituality. It was also visited by Tokugawa Ieyasu before the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600 and later received the protection of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Throughout the year, the shrine hosts important seasonal festivals that reflect local traditions and community life. In mid-April, the Spring Festival celebrates the arrival of spring and prays for prosperity. In the second weekend of June, the Grand Festival is the shrine’s biggest annual event, filled with traditional performances and local celebrations. In early July, the opening of the small Mount Fuji mound inside the shrine grounds marks a unique cultural tradition. Visitors during spring and autumn may also experience the special Seven Torii pilgrimage, where people pass through seven stone torii gates to pray for good health and protection.
