- Meet at Kyoto Station , Central Exit and catch a 40-minute local bus to the tranquil Takao village, surrounded by the lush Kyoto hills.
Takao Village
Begin a peaceful walk through the forest, following the serene blue Kyotaki River for an hour. Take in the sights and sounds of nature as you make your way through this beautiful landscape.
Kyotaki Village
Lunch: Enjoy a leisurely lunch in the charming Kyotaki village, and if you're visiting in the summer, feel free to take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear river.
Otaji Nembutsuji Temple
Afternoon: Visit the hidden Otaji Nembutsuji Temple, a quiet spiritual site steeped in history. Afterward, stroll down the picturesque Saga Toriimoto street, discovering its unique atmosphere and local charm.

In 2019, my wife Shizuka and I decided to settle in Kyoto to start a family. We chose Kyoto because of its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, which has captivated us ever since. Over the years, we’ve traveled all over Japan, uncovering both its hidden gems and its iconic destinations.
I’m an outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking and cycling.
