There are many old streets in old capital Kyoto area. I design a walking tour set of 31 streets. You can see the true Kyoto in this tour which is not in current tourism. It is like Kyoto of 30 years ago.In some streets, You could see traditional dying shops for Yuzen which is a traditional dyeing method of Kyoto. You can visit some of the shops and I will interpret between the shop owner and you.
Check out what we are going to do.

Tanbaguchi station (JR) or Saiin station(Hankyu railway)
You can discover the truly traditional Kyoto things like professional artifact shops, hidden Japanese sweets shops and so on.
Of course, you can visit some temples and shrines which have long history.
It is a much quieter area than major sightseeing spots and you can see true Kyoto.
I will help your conversation with shop clerks by interpeting Japanese to English and vice versa.
In Matsubara street
1) We go over Matsubara bridge which used to be Gojou bridge and has famous fighting story.
2) There are lots of shops which are related to Japanese tradition like urushi lacquering, dying for kimono, sweets, japanese candle and so on. You can visit them.
3) Also you can see the daily life shops for Kyoto people, for example, Japanese pickles, Japanese cloth, reed curtain and etc.
4) And this street acrosses strange name street whose name is "Tensi-tukinuke doori" that means "street being penetrated an angel".
guide fee, Guide's transportation fee between guide's house and Kyoto, hotel pick-up in Kyoto city
lunch, dinner, entrance fee(If we visit. There is no place where enterane fee is needed as far as I know) ,
Public transportation fee for you and guide during the tour(less than 1000yen for each),
Hotel pick-up in Osaka city(optional).
In this tour, you can drop into your favorite shops. And the guide gives you basic explanations and interprets between you and shop clerks.
You will walk long(the street length is around 4.7km from Gojou station to Tanbaguchi station).
So you have to wear suitable shoes for walking.
The tour hours are fixed, so even if we are in the middle of course, we finish the tour.
If we leave hours, we can go a neighbor street.
Yoshiharu is a good tour Guide. He was at our hotel on time and was willing to do anything to make our tour good. He still a little new right now and everything didn't go as planned. Most of the time it was our group fault because some people in our group wanted go to a place that Yoshiharu has never been before and never told him about it before hand but Yoshiharu did his best to find the places and get us there. The only thing I can think of that might improve the tour is in the subway. I think yoshiharu might figure out the total Subway ride fare before hand so we could just pay one time instead of every single time we went to the subway. Overall Yoshiharu is a Good Guide and will get you to see the sights you want to. I would use him again next Time I visit Japan.
Thank you for your evaluation. I was very surprised to get there and could not have expected there. And I am sorry for having troubles when we bought tickets to get subway. We should have buy 1 day pass for subway but the pass is more expensive than buying tickets one by one, so we did.(Next time we will but 1 day pass) Next time you come to Japan, I will be ready for more interesting tour according to your interests. Thank you.
Yoshi is a new tour guide. He is doing its best to make the tour interesting.
Very friendly and helpful
Dear Peter and Derek Thank you for your evaluation. It is undeserved for me as a beginner's guide. If you come to Japan again, I want to guide you in Kyoto or Nara which has more than one thousand years long history. Yours sincerely, Yoshiharu
Great tour of main sightseeings in Kyoto, great guide, recommended.
